Car watch

I've taken to putting the front door camera up on my TV when I'm not watching programming. I like watching people come and go. There's a 2 car long passenger pick up spot just in front of the building. It has a 5 minute limit on it. The parking police generally keep it pretty patrolled.

But, on Friday, a car showed up there and has not left yet. On Saturday, I did see a guy open the car and trunk and pull out a backpack and other stuff and walk away. Nothing since then. Now I'm obsessed with this car waiting to see its fate.

More heat pump drama. So. There are three inspections that the city requires after the work is done. Electrical, mechanical and refrigeration. The electrical was done and passed. The mechanical was done and didn't pass. (The drain needs fixing.) The holes in the wall cannot be fixed until the refrigeration inspection. I only learned about that from the mechanical inspection guy. The installers didn't even mention a refrigeration inspection.

I've been bombarding the sales guy with WTF emails since Friday but with the holiday, etc. But, first thing this morning he was on it. The city has me on the schedule today for the refrigeration inspection. So whew.

I haven't heard back from the contractor people so they won't be here today and by the time they do get here, everything will be ready. The drain won't be fixed until the last week in January which is ok. Then the mechanical inspection needs to happen again which is ok. That's all hole-fixing independent.

I was going to walk over to Uwajimaya this morning instead of treadmill but now I guess I'll stay here, just in case. No big deal.

Unless it's cold, I always go barefoot in the house. And, since I'm in the house most of the time that means I'm shoeless most of the time. At the end of the summer, my feet, particularly my left foot was in horrible shape, hard, cracked peeling skin from toe to heel. It was just ugh. I tried some treatments and got it a little better but then started wearing foot coverings all of the time. The only time my feet are naked now is when I'm sleeping. And both my feet are way way way happier.

So now I have to figure out year round foot coverings for in the house. Flip floppy things don't work because they change how I walk and affect my posture. Tightly fitting things are a bitch to get on and off. I found a pair of indoor shoes that are close enough that now I have the parameters of what I need. There are so many different flavors to pick from. Also since the temperature of my house will now not vary with the seasons, I have more options for summer. It's a quest.

But at least I know for sure how to keep my feet bottoms from falling off!

Biggie continues to be fine. I threw out the fridge poop.

Time to get on the treadmill.

I don't like going barefoot, even in the summer. I will occasionally, when sitting and watching tv, put my bare feet on the vinyl floor which is cooler than anything else in the house. But I really don't like walking barefoot at all!

The orthopedic shoe store near me recommended them when my doctor sent me there for planter fasciitis. I love them.

If it's any help, my mother wears Birkenstocks in the house. They have good support, are very comfortable, and are quick to get on and off while still not being flip-floppy.

When I lived in Cambridge, England, in the mid-90's, a local cable television station showed CCTV from the railway platform at the city's station, that was interesting to watch sometimes. Later, on first moving to Scotland, we rented a house with one of its satellite dishes delivering, among other things, a couple of feeds from some casino, somewhere in the world, bizarre but also interesting to view, sometimes a guy would come to feed the small rodents that maybe people bet on races of.
