My eyes have been driving me nuts. The seeing out of them - eye doctor in a couple of weeks. But, the skin around them. They itch like crazy and sting. A few nights ago, it was hard to go to sleep because they hurt so much. I got one of those cool ice shades that you keep in the fridge until ready to use. I've been putting it on to go to sleep. It only stays cold for about an hour but it feels soooooo good and my eyes love it. They have pretty much lost their itch. Whew.

I've lived here in downtown Seattle now for more than 30 years. For most of those years, I've loved the noise of the city. With my new heatpump, the doors to the outside remain closed and I love it. Particularly on dumpster emptying days. The trucks pick up the dumpsters from the apartment building across the way and bang them over and over again at 5:45 am. Now I cannot hear them and it's lovely.

I am interested in how my electric bill is going to change as a result.

Julio finally, irrevocably, broke his favorite toy. Amazon has a replacement out for delivery. Three stops away. I hope he can hold on. He keeps dragging the broken toy around. I finally just put it in the trash. He was watching. :(

The only agenda item today is an Amazon return. I may pick up a bagel sandwich on the way back. Or maybe chicken teriyaki. But, that's the extent of plans.

After the treadmill, of course.

My eyes have been watering and tearing horribly lately, I feel for you.

I was going to ask you if the heat pump was noisy and I am relieved for you that it isn't.

Please keep us posted about your electric bill.

Sympathy. I get itchy eyelids occasionally, and it sucks. My ophthalmologist told me about eyelid wipes, which help a little.

Soap in my eyes is awful; it's one of the reasons I don't shampoo my hair very often.

I had the same eye problem and my ophthalmologist said I had eczema on my eyelids even though I saw no rash there. He prescribed a cream that cleared it up right away.

Yes, my eyes itch like the very devil from time to time. It's something that's come on only in the last several years. But then I'm in my sixties now and my body started to hold up little red flags a while ago. I find that bathing my eyes with tap water, when they itch, works wonders instantly.

When my eyes get itchy it's either because they're dried out or I've gotten allergic to something. I hope that the ice mask continues to work for you. I use eyedrops and a good moisturizer around the eyes that is without scent. It seems to be the only thing that works for me.

Poor Julio!

Not sure if you mentioned seborrheic dermatitis before. That's what I seem to have and makes my eyes red and sore. Had that since my teens and only solution I've found is washing my eyes under a shower with good pressure. I now use a St Ives face scrub, once applied it's then blasted off with the shower. It's a pain, but in the past I've been told to use cotton buds and various washes/wipes that only seemed to make it worse.
