I got a note from my doctor's office reminding me of my appointment next week. It suggested I got to MyChart so I did. There, they had a multi point pre-appintment thingie. Confirm this, answer that, sign this. All very reasonable and easy to do. Then, at the end, it told me that if I preferred, I could sign in at the office via the app. No shit? That's cool. So I downloaded the app which was not as cool. But did give me the option to turn off two factor authentication and then it got much better.

According to this app and the settings I set, I should be able to waltz in, bypass the annoying front counter person who is always a bitch (regardless of gender) and just sit down. They will know I'm there and call me in when ready. COOLIO! I'm totally going to try it.

Julio is mad at me and or afraid of me and or both. He kept pulling at the bells on his collar and then pulled off the collar twice. I kept putting it back on. Then I switched to a different kind but didn't get the bells on securely and he pulled them off. Now I have them on securely but he is so over the whole thing. He won't let me near him to put it back on. He wouldn't even eat his lunch until I was on the other side of the room. I think we have issues.

I now have dinner reservations for every night that my brother will be here. Except the first one which is always a tough one with the time change. We'll punt. But the others are at all different places. I have been to two of them but one of those it's been more than 20 years. The rest are pretty new. It's amazing to me that when he was last here - Labor Day - it was really hard to find restaurants open with tables available. Not all of them had reopened and those that had were only open a few nights a week. Now we even have new ones that are open lots. Yeah.

The mychart app is probably the *best* mobile app that I have encountered!

other than the TINY limit they provide for the box of "why do you want this appointment" - it's actually helpful! And it lets me log in with my fingerprint so it's already top of the pack :)

I was going to try the automatic checkin thingy yesterday, but in the mess of finding parking, I got discombobulated and forgot :D

i've used the web version of mychart for years and it has gotten way better and is sure better than nothing. i think i have the phone app set up so that it won't give me any more trouble :) and you are right - any app that loves my thumb is on my favorite app list for sure.

You won't need it for this appointment since it's imminent - but I found out that the app lets you add yourself to a "waitlist" if you are scheduled way out in the future and want to be offered something earlier.

When I was waiting for a slot with a hand surgeon that was out 3 months, I added myself to the waitlist, and ended up getting in within a week or so! The app popped up a notification that I was being offered a new appointment time, I got to look at what was offered and accept or decline - it was super easy!

I have learned that it works differently for different doctors and different clinics. We only got billing in October of last year but others have had it for a while. I can schedule appointments with my main doctor but not with the eye doctor. I have very limited capabilities with the lung department. And main,eye and lung are all in the same clinic.

I think there's a giant list and not all the boxes are checked for all the services. BUT it does get better. I hope I never need that wait list thing but if I do, I sure hope my doctors have checked that box.
