Phone doctor and me doctor
Mar. 6th, 2023 08:10 amAfter I did a factory reset on my phone, it did the flash/black trick again. So I went to Google Customer Service. They told me to go to the repair shop. There is one in the University District (heavy traffic and no parking) and one south of here about 20 mins (nice parking but harry drive). I have zero interest in going to either one. I cannot replicate the issue on demand. So I figure I'd get the old lady bum's rush as soon as I told them the problem.
So I went to Reddit and posted the issue and asked what my best course of action might be.
I got a fast response from a really nice someone who said that they had just had the same exact issue and followed the same exact path. It's a motherboard problem and I need to get it to the repair shop who will likely not be able to fix it but will start the return/replace process.
So at least I feel more confident in the path. I'll be heading down to the one in the south this morning. Right now, I can recover the phone when it has a seizure but it could be heading right to totally dead. I have an 11 am appointment but I figure when I get there will be fine.
I got up early this morning, showered and dressed and was at the lab at 6:40. They finally got blood on the second try. Giant ass, teensy weensy veins. I was at the very confusing parking pay station when my phone rang. It was the lab. Come back, I forgot to give you the cup to pee in. Fuck.
Last year there was no pee test and no one mentioned it at all. I figured I was free. But this year, the doctor wasn't the one who ordered the labs. I was not prepared so I didn't have much - maybe not enough to test, but that's all they are getting. I'm over pee tests.
Plus, since I had already paid for parking, I didn't want to go back and have to pay again, so I just pulled into the pharmacy slots which are pharmacy only and 15 mins only. The pharmacy does not open til 9. Of course I got a ticket.
But it came with an email address so I sent them a Please Have Mercy email explaining the situation and promising to never do it again. I haven't heard. $35 if they don't have mercy.
I meant to test my blood before I left and forgot. So I tested it the minute I got home. 103. That's the highest reading I've gotten. So, I suspect that the lab's reading is going to be higher than mine. Oh well. At least it won't be a surprise.
I should get the results this morning but their computer systems were having issues so maybe not.
Tomorrow is the annual chimney inspection. It takes about 5 mins for them to do but this year I have to move furniture and I cannot remember if I have anything actually stashed in the fireplace or not so I need to check that.
Wednesday they come to look inside the hole they created last week.
Thursday is my appointment at the doctor's.
Lots of action this week!
