Mar. 9th, 2023 09:21 amI'm good for another year. It's always a treat to see Dr. Lee. He's adorable. He gave me new cholesterol drugs and told me not to eat so much meat. He didn't even try to sell vegetables. He did make another stab at weight loss but his heart wasn't in it. I have to go back for a blood check in 3 months but that's just to see if the new drugs are working. Otherwise it's kiss kiss See Ya Next Year!
They are, indeed, going full tilt on this check in with My Chart thing. Signs are everywhere telling you to download the app and use it to check in. It was seamless. The nurse did say that they lose a fair number of people. They can't seem to figure out which waiting room to use (The sign saying Dr. Lee with an arrow, apparently is insufficient.) and they have to go wandering around trying to track the people down.
I had filled out the medicare questionnaire in my chart so we could skip that but now they have a cognitive test which required some serious cog. "I'm going to give you an address and then ask you for it later." Then count backwards from 20. List the months of the year in reverse order. And a few more along those lines. Then the address - John Brown, 42 Market Street, Chicago. I passed but yikes.
And, in other news, Mariners sent me an invitation to see my new seat and the new set up at the Press Club. The team is having an on field exhibitiony kind of thing - Diamond Derby and Skills Challenge - and they are using it to let us come see the new stuff. March 29 2-5. This will be excellent. I do want to see my seat and the set up and get a feel for how it will be for a game before an actual game. Perfect. I'm looking forward to this. My first game will be the Sunday after.
I think I'm going to make a trip to the fancy grocery today. I need eggs. And a few other things. Not much but enough to warrant a trip.
The people who were supposed to come look into the hole they cut in my ceiling last week on Tuesday and then Wednesday and then Thursday and then yesterday, are supposed to come today. But, for obvious reasons, I am not holding my breath or staying home waiting. They don't need me to do what they want to do. If they even show up.
So now I've had my annual lung check up, eye check and now everything else check up for the year. I'll be 74 in a couple of weeks. I think it's amazing I've made it this far and am in such good shape. I have had and have a great life. I am grateful every single day.
Biggie is sitting next to his empty food bowl but Julio agreed to a photo.

Date: 2023-03-11 02:43 am (UTC)I wish I had MyChart through my assigned PCM. Although I'm thinking if I switched to one of the main local healthcare systems where I live, then I might get my wish. I'm still contemplating it but I don't go to the dr enough to warrant it at this point.
Geez - a cognitive test at any age would give me lots of anxiety! I'm glad you passed!
That's what my mom is terrified of because she has white coat syndrome as is, so she thinks she'll lose her ability to live on her own.
