I am an idiot and Amazon is Amazing
Mar. 18th, 2023 08:41 amOn Saturday mornings, I reconcile my Amazon spending. I use Tiller which downloads Amazon and then some order number. So I go back and check to see what that was and then correct the item to Cat Toy or whatever in the spreadsheet so I can understand just how much of my brother's inheritance is going to shit for the cats, etc.
When I went to the doctor he changed my cholesterol medication and suggested that I also add COQ 10 which I had never heard of. I did some research and discovered the options are a large capsule or a gummy. I like gummies so I thought I'd try a bottle of those. So I added a bottle to my Subscribe and Save.
This morning I discovered that that bottle cost me $205. WTF????!!!!!! I looked and checked and double checked and learned that for some reason unknown to me, I ordered 18 bottles. And even bigger WTF?????? Also, they are not returnable.
So I hopped onto chat with Amazon. Begging. My fault. My bad. But, please, can't I return them just this once? The lovely chat guy pointed out that I haven't even received them yet. But, I said, they are 8 stops away and will be here in an hour. Ahh, Give me a moment, please. Then he comes back and says that I am to chat again 48 hours after I receive them and they will give me all the money back and I keep all 18 bottles. He's making a note in my file to make sure I have no issues.
THIS is why I love Amazon. They save me from me.
And now I have a lifetime supply of these damn gummies. I hope they are good.
This morning I got up to pee about 4 and then snuggled back into bed. Biggie snuggled right up to my back, his head near mine and his body along my spine. It was wonderful. About 6:30 I woke up and he was still there, all warm and cuddly. And then he put a paw on my nose which is how he wakes me up. Wait, what?? Biggie's here. It's Julio who's been so cuddly??? hahahaha Yep. Julio who's afraid of me mostly - in daylight, is now my cuddle buddy at night.
I slept good most of the night but did wake up to worry about vehicles in July.
My car is a Smart Car and I love it. But, it only holds two people. When I bought it, 12 years ago, I knew this was going to be a problem, not often, but sometimes. And it is a recurring headache. When I need to carry more than 1 person, I can rent a car but then, where do I park the rental? I've tried various combinations of solutions. Rent a car and also rent a parking space. Rent a private car and leave my car in the owner's space. Use short term car rentals (mostly no longer available). None of these solutions is great or even really good for a bunch off reasons.
In July, my friends from New Zealand are coming to visit. 2 of them. 1 more than I have car for. They are coming for a few days and then going to Alaska and then coming back for a week. We will want to go places - they want to take a car ferry to an island, for instance. We will need a car that seats at least 3. So I've been chewing over this for a while. I think I've finally decided to go with Zipcar and Lyft.
Zipcar is a per hour membership deal that is really pretty reasonably priced. PLUS there are two cars kept in the parking garage across the street. And, I discovered this morning, I can reserve way in advance. They have a refer a friend deal so I need to find a member - Reddit will work for this. And, Lyft is great for from here to their hotel and to a lot of restaurants and places around town and very last minute friendly.
So I think that's my plan. And, of course, it may and probably will, change. But, hopefully, this plan will enable me to sleep between now and July.
My brother arrives tomorrow morning and I'm so looking forward to his visit. I'm all ready and the cats are two. They were fascinated by my putting the sheets on his bed. And very helpful.
I have laundry to do and other house things plus I may replace the kitchen floor today. Maybe. Time to get to it.

Date: 2023-03-18 06:17 pm (UTC)I am doing the COQ10 as well - and I have the giant orange pills from Costco which are apparently highly rated. Gummies would be easier, for sure, but I am making the pills work, LOL
I am taking the COQ10 because I was having really terrible leg cramps all night - the legs are still crampy, but it is significantly better. Is it the COQ10? I have no idea - but I'm still taking them :D

Date: 2023-03-18 07:43 pm (UTC)Anyway, my doctor says that some people experience muscle aches with this new cholesterol pill I'm taking and the COQ10 (which in my head is Cock 10!) - will help with those. So I said, well, should I wait on the COQ10 to see if I have muscle aches and he said 'nah, I'd just go ahead and take it.'
So, what the heck.
I will change my will to bequeath you whatever gummies remain after my death.

Date: 2023-03-18 08:32 pm (UTC)Apparently the cholesterol pills blocks your body's creation of COQ10 so you end up with a deficit after taking it for a while - so yeah, makes sense to start taking it when you start the pill, and that way you don't develop the muscle aches!
