When I'm 64... er 74

susandennisToday is my 74th birthday. Thanks to all for birthday wishes.
This would be a great time to spill words of wisdom gathered from 74 years of experience. But, really, I got nuthin'. I've had a fascinating, amazing, exceedingly lucky, really cool life. And I'm ok with more if that's in the cards. I will say that for me, being old is full of good. If I could go back and re-enjoy my best years, it would be these, really. How lucky is that?!
Today I'll be doing stuff I love to do - like my normal days. I do think I'll pop over to the grocery and pick up some salad and some fruit. I have meals coming tomorrow so all I need is produce.
I'm testing a knitting pattern. Before pattern makers publish a pattern, they like to have it tested by real world knitters/crocheters. It's a fun way to help out and you get a free pattern and learn new stuff. The pattern I'm testing is for a gilet (which, apparently, is what the brits call a vest). In knitting, casting on stitches and doing up the first row is generally the worst part. This particular pattern has you casting on 500 stitches which qualifies it for PIA status. Plus, the pattern had confusing instructions so I cast on those stitches and knit the first row which took forfreakin'ever and then thought I'd done it wrong so ripped it out. This morning I got a note from the pattern writer that I had done it correctly she just left out the explanation. So, yippeee, I get to do the worst part again!
And I have tons of TV to catch up on while I do it. No baseball today. Regular season games start on Thursday.
