My first baseball game in my new seat with a pre-game brunch. I'm very excited. I'm pretty sure we'll lose and I don't even care! My favorite pitcher is pitching. He's not the best any more - maybe even the worst but he's the coolest and nicest. He and his wife came to the Mariners a few years ago and are everywhere all over town doing good and showing up all winter and a lot of the summer. They had a baby a few years ago and I thought for sure this would quell their good deeds but nope. They champion cause after cause with giant smiles and How Can We Help attitudes.

So I hope he does great today but if he doesn't, I'll cheer him on anyway.

Oh and it's raining. Which is fine for the game - the roof will be closed which gives the stadium a very cozy feel. The roof is more like an umbrella. You can still see daylight but you just stay dry. However, getting from here to there has no roof. No biggie. I'll be bundled up anyway. It will be about 40 degrees. My new seat has overhead heating which I thought was silly but now am now seeing the wisdom. I'll be heading on out about 10:45.

I have several chores - trip to the dumpsters - weekly bathroom clean, etc. - to do before I go. So I think I'll get on the treadmill and get the party started.

I'm liking baseball this year. One coworker took off time in the afternoon to watch the Detroit opener, and then reported later that he should've known better, it was a waste of time, something like that. Presumably cuz they lost. It's nice to see you not letting the "outcome" ruin anything for ya.

The Orioles stole 5 bases in each of their first two games. Apparently Boston's catcher is known for having a lousy throw to 2nd, but there's also how the bases are a little closer together, and the pitcher's got the new clock to deal with. I dunno if that all matters, but I do like stolen bases, and singles and triples. And amazing catches, with a bonus when they're by somebody on "my" team. :)

I have yet to see a Rays game this season, because they've been during the day and either haven't been around or I've been writing.

But I hope to see one of their games soon. They seem to be doing well.

I've followed this rather random news site superpunch.net for years. It has a bunch of geeky links but also some sports stuff. I saw mention of the Mariners 🙂
