I have nothing on the calendar. I have a bunch of delicious meals to pick from. I did all the laundry yesterday. I don't even have any packages coming today.

This is a nothing Tuesday and I'm delighted.

My tooth and I are getting along nicely so far.

I'm running into a book/baseball problem. It's one I have every year. My routine is to spend an hour or so in bed at night listening to my book. BUT, now most nights, that hour is watching the end of baseball. Sometimes I mute the TV sound and book listen but not if the game is good or the book is good. Curtis Sittenfeld's latest came out today and I love her stuff and I still have another one lined up before hers. And as soon as I latch on to one of those, the library will pop up with one of my holds.

I need to reswizzle my routine.

I could listen and knit during the day but I still have one more episode of Ray Donovan to watch and then I have all the stuff that's backed up while I've been watching all the seasons.

How am I supposed to get all this done???? And all you working people probably think retirement is easy. Ha.

But before I get on with my busy busy nothing day, I need to get on that stupid treadmill. I mention that here every day because it's kind of a bond. If I say it here, I have to make it happen. Whackadoodle, I know but I hate doing it so much that I have to have tricks or it will never happen.

I was just looking to see who was Curtis Sittenfeld but I looked and realized why I don't know.

Enjoy. I'm all wrapped up in the Thursday Murder Club series.

There are a lot of characters to get to know in these so it takes a bit of patience. But the author is good about repeating enough information that I can remember them as they go through one thing or another.
It is a group of people in a Bishop Gadsden in England who have several unique skill sets that make them exceptional at ferreting out cold cases. An ex MI-6 officer, an ex Policeman, an ex CPA, etc. And they are charming and creak when they walk and forget things and meet in the jig saw puzzle room that they have to vacate by 11 when the French conversational club has the room scheduled.
The stories are fun and the characters are humorous and gentle and appealing.
I'd say put them on your list and don't give up when you read them. The books are not very compelling until they get under your skin and are just great.

i remember thinking, a few months after I retired, "How did I ever manage to have a job and a life?"
