Day game

Baseball schedules only sometimes follow a pattern. But, sometimes they do. Play one team for the weekend. Play another for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Take Thursday off. Lather, rinse, repeat. And, further, they make Wednesday a day game to elongate the break.

In the olden days (aka up until this year), teams mostly played games in their league with a few crossover games. But, the number of different teams you saw in any one season was limited. This year, one of the many changes they have made, is to do away with that. Now any team plays any team making the scheduling a lot easier because more teams.

So we have a lot more of that pattern this year and today is the first. Wednesday afternoon game with no game tomorrow. Game 1, we won but not easily. Games 2, 3, 4 and 5, we lost handily. Last night we dominated. Guys we paid big bucks for who haven't done squat yet, did squat. I do like baseball but, seriously, it's way more fun when you win.

So this afternoon will be baseball.

Between now and then I need to treadmill, shower, dress, clean out litter boxes, and really that's about it. I have a few excellent salads in the fridge plus other options for lunch and dinner so I'm set there.

I do need to catch Julio today and clip his nails. Poor guy is going to hate it and so me but he's so wild I'm afraid he's going to snag something while he's running around and pull a nail right out. So, it's gotta happen.

And that's the excitement planned for here for today. Anything changes and I'll be back with full update.

My last cat was wild when having to do his nails, that I when I caught him I would wrap him up like a burrito in a thick blanket. I also bought a used duck net that I would use to catch in an emergency, after he passed away last year I donated it to our vet so that they could use it in case they had a cat escape.

My old gal, Little One, has claws that curl into her paw pads...not something we realized before it happened to her. She now gets her claws inspected and trimmed regularly. We wrap her in a towel to keep her still. The first time we wrapped her for a trim she scared the crap out of us because she suddenly went completely still and laid her head to the side. We thought we'd stressed her to death, literally. She got us good.
