Yesterday's baseball game was a killer. We had it in the bag and it looked like rain was going to secure our victory but the damn stuff stopped and the Phillies pulled out ahead in the bottom of the 9th. It was our relief pitcher's gift to them. With a fucking bow.

Today's game is at 10 this morning.

And it's Clean Up The Outside Shelves Day. I can do it while I listen to the game. I need to do it while it's still cool out. IF the road work isn't too bad. The stuff on the shelves has gathered a lot of dust and grime. Plus, I think I think there is some of it that can be donated to the dumpsters. But, mainly, I'm trying to find a long curtain that I took down last year, folded up nicely and put somewhere secret. If the road work is too loud, smelly, fume-y, I'll concentrate on the big sub project.

I need to get all my hardware - tools, and bits - together and organized. Right now I have them spread all over the house. If I want a hammer I go outside. If I want a nail, it's in the one bin in the living room. The drill is in another. The drill bits in a third. It's a nightmare. Some of it is my father's fault. When I moved into my first apartment, he gave me a red toolbox. My uncle and cousin filled it with essentials. It's now way too small and fairly impractical but even me - not a sentimental bone in my body - can't seem to replace it.

But, I need to get all the shit in one place.

I have a deep drawer here in the living room that is full of nothing but adult coloring books and pens - most of which are, likely, completely dried up. I adore the idea of coloring. I really do. But I never ever ever do it. I do it in my mind. I think I will but I really never do. I like shopping for supplies and finding new and fun books and markers. Which is ridiculous since I never touch the stuff once it gets here. It is time to donate that drawer real estate for something way more practical.

The latest book in a great series was released today. The Monk by Tim Sullivan. And, in a rare coincidence, I'm ready to start my next read. So Yeah!

I think I'll get onto the treadmill before I start anything else and discover that I "forgot" to do it.

I am the same way with coloring books - I love the concept, but never actually do it!

I have moved on to coloring apps - I play with "Happy color" on my phone now :D

At least with getting rid of that kind of hardly used stuff, it's easily replaced if it turns out you needed it after all.

I am exactly the same with tools and hardward bits and bobs all over the house. I am always thinking that this is ridiculous and I need to do something about it, and I never do, because the satisfaction payoff is not very high for me.

Ah...someday.
