Attacked by Word Salad

The attorney who called me was one of those people who firmly believed 1000 words should be used when 1 will suffice. OMG my ears hurt so much not to mention my ego. She thought I was an idiot and so talked to me as if I was one. When I asked if they could store the original documents there, she said "no" and then without taking a breath talked for 8 more paragraphs and would have kept going had I not stopped her. She told me they would send me instructions about where to go/park/etc for the signing and then proceeded to explain to me all of that in great detail. She covered most of what others in her firm had already covered. In my head I was screaming SHUT UP!!!!

Oh and she told me that I could bring my own pen to the signing. But, they had pens so I didn't have to if I didn't want to. WTF???

Seriously. Maybe their other clients are all stupid.

At the end of the call she asked for feedback on the entire process and I told her that except for this call it was all fine. But that her mansplaining every point and not listening to my responses was pretty insulting. She at least ended the call. But, manohman.

I did NOT ask her about my cousin's situation. But, I did remember another lawyer in the firm who I dealt with who was not insulting so I sent her an email.

I'm going to the grocery store.

The pens might be a Covid thing. In 2021, my dentist (along with her other precautions) issued each patient a brand new pen (to keep) if needed to sign a credit card slip, for example. I understand about airborne transmission, but I have continued to use my own pen when signing things outside the home.

Her word salad included a two paragraph explanation about how some people have pens that are very dear to them and it's a sentimental process etc etc etc etc

Plus she covered COVID is a very needlessly long introduction to the signing process.

Some times, I really enjoy when I get a survey after a terrible customer service interaction. They asked for it.

Oh yeah this. So much. In retrospect, I'm glad I told her but I do wish I'd been a little more elegant about it. I was just so frustrated and beat up at that point...
