When I got home, Biggie and Julio were in a little kitty puddle under the ladder in a little patch of sun. They have been kind of steering clear of each other while they were sick so I take this as a good sign. Also I'm sneezing more than Julio now.

My nose has been stuffed so today was nose cleaning day but I waited until I got home because while it ultimately does great things for my nose and my breathing, while it's getting there, I'm a sneeze machine. Not something I want to do in public.

I got my errands done. I went to Trader Joes instead of the fancy market because 1. I needed tarter sauce and TJ's is my fav and 2. I hadn't been there in a while and it was next to my first errand.

I was kind of glad to discover that I couldn't find much I wanted in TJ's. I got salads but their avocados were rock hard and none of their meal stuff appealed.

I also got an aloe plant. I've been burning myself a lot. I figured I should be more careful ORRRR I should get an aloe plant. TJ's had them for cheap. But, then I got home and discovered that there is nowhere in my house to grow it. You need 6 hours of direct sunlight. Even if I wanted it, there's no way to get that amount of sun in my east facing condo. Oh well. Maybe I really should be more careful.

All this smoke on the east coast is wild. Just like we have gotten every fall for the past few years. And will get, likely again, this year. it's a bitch.

>_> It's probably dependent on the type of aloe, but fwiw, I've had aloes all my adult life, hardly ever have they lived in ANY HOURS of direct sun, and they may grow different, but they do grow and try to climb out of the pots just fine. So, esp. if you just want it alive for burny purposes, I'd still give it a go.

I was going to say the same thing - our aloe plant lived in the kitchen on the windowsill and there was NO direct sunlight that came in that window - and it did wonderfully.

Well I got one of those aloe plants from TJ's too and it is out in the sun and I think it is dying. So I just dunno! ;-)

Heads up with cats. Aloe juice and pulp can be used to treat a variety of conditions in people, but it is highly toxic to cats. Keep aloe plants away from cats.
