Yet another day in the string...
Jul. 24th, 2006 08:31 amNo clouds this morning. Full on sun. It's not horribly uncomfortable in here but it's not pleasant either. It's too hot to drink coffee or get motivated or think deep thoughts.
Two of my current clients were at a corporate meeting last week and made stop gap decisions until they could get back this week and focus. Right now today I have no work on my plate. That may last until tomorrow. I do have a good book to read and I might just spend a good part of today doing that.
The assistant to the woman handling Mom's estate is sending me annoying questions. She's annoying and Mom's insurance company has sent out yet another form - I filled out one already back in January - about Mom's fall when she broke her shoulder. The woman at the bank has no idea how little I care. I want to tell her to just fill in whatever dates she wants and leave me alone but she is only doing her job and it's not terribly fair of me to take our heat wave out on her.
In fact, I should make a serious effort to muster up the energy to be very grateful. The very fact that I can do with my day exactly what I want is the greatest of luxury and I am very thankful. Hot... cranky... but sincerely and profoundly very thankful.

Date: 2006-07-24 07:06 pm (UTC)I'm thinking maybe we will sit in here October and look back and know that inside the part home run was the turning point for the Mariners... I do hate that we will have taken you down the process - but that Red Sox nation crap really does beg for it. (Interestingly, I did not hear yesterday or Saturday, the RED SOX ROCK chants through the neighborhood that I heard on Friday....)

Yeah, but did you hear "Yankees suck" chants? A certain class of Red Sox fan seems to think this is appropriate under all circumstances, even when the Yankees are thousands of miles away.
