Goldilocks coloring
Jun. 8th, 2023 10:08 amI recently tossed an embarrassing amount of coloring books and coloring equipment. I love it but I never do it. It was just too much.
But, now I found Pocket Water coloring and I'm hooked. It's these cheep little books (search 'pocket water color' on Amazon - they have a bajillion). The paintbrush is nestled into the hard back. The paint is along side each page. The paper is thick. All you need is water.

It's very portable. And fun. The picture here is my test picture. It's fun and it's minimal and it's cheap.
Julio and Biggie are back in perfect Julio and Biggie form for the first time in a week. Zooming everywhere, chasing each other, making a mess and now sprawled out in front of me. Whew. What a long and worrying week it has been.
The guys removed the rest of the sheetrock from the terrace roof and did a masterful job of cleaning up. They will be back in about an hour to put in the posts.
The head guy said that he thought it was overkill but better safe... He said that the building itself is 'beyond solid'. It's built with 18"square wooden beams - the lumber of 1909. But the 5th floor was built on a roof 30 years ago and one not intended to be built upon. My realtor actually said this very thing 30 years ago when I was trying to decide if I wanted one of the units on the 5th floor. For that and several other reasons, I've always been so glad I did not buy one of those.
Oh and the head guy told me that none of the work they do will require my air conditioner be turned off. (The people on the 5th floor are not so lucky.)
My idea for getting a bench for storage out there is going to work out perfectly.
Here's what my naked ceiling looks like now.

Time to start the laundry and take a load o' stuff down to the dumpsters.

Date: 2023-06-09 04:26 am (UTC)Okay..so question - if the balconies on the 5th floor need to be shored up, because the 5th floor is built on the roof which wasn't designed to hold up another level of living space...should they be looking to shore up the INTERIORS where the 5th floor's livingroom and kitchen and bedrooms were built on that same roof that wasn't meant to hold up another floor of living space?
It seems like the balconies would be the least "heavy" parts of the 5th floor? (other than people who are using it as furniture storage, LOL)
