Tedious Life Details
Jun. 10th, 2023 07:20 amWe lost last night but that's not unusual - at least the other team did not score double digits. But, the game was on Apple +. I can ignore the stupid Apple broadcasters and appreciate that they employ the mentally disabled. But, really Apple TV is just a mess. It's the slowest app on my Roku. Once it does launch, it's ok but getting there is painful. If I watch every day, it's only moderately painful but if I pull up the app only once in a while, the pain level hits a 10.
Last night at 8:15, I turned off the living room TV and went to the bedroom. I turned on the TV and clicked on Apple. It's been a while since I've watched Apple on the bedroom TV (which is a Roku TV just like the living room). It required a reauthorization of my account - THREE fucking times. And their reauhorizaton process is a pain all its own. Finally, by 8:32, I had the game going again. Next Friday, is another Apple TV game. Oh joy. Oh Raputure.
Yesterday, I bought a new clock. It has giant numbers which is why I bought it. I installed it in the living room. It came with a manual that was in 6 different languages on a palmsized piece of paper and so used a teeny tiny font visible to insects only. I used my phone camera's zoom to read the critical bits and got it set up. I was happy. I failed to see that the alarm was set.
At 6:22 this morning, I realized my failure. There was no button to push, on the back or sides. It has battery back up so unplugging did not shut it off. I finally remembered it had a little remote and dug that out and hit every button till the damn thing shut up. It was another merry festuche to figure out how to unset the alarm.
Kudos to Biggie for letting me sleep til 6:22. He generally likes me up about 6.
Neither one of the cats slept with me at all last night. The cams show they both sacked out on the suitcase most of the night. I think we all slept well.
With the TV on mute, I started a new book last night. Harold by Steven Wright. Read by Steven Wright. Steven Wright is probably my favorite comedian of all times. "I just lost a button... hole." "The alphabet, why do they sort it that way? Is it because of the song?" Harold turns out to be a way of explaining how Steven Wright's brain works. It takes some thinking to listen to and I may not make it to the end but it was sure better than listening to those two Apple yahoos.
Today, I will go out. I did not move enough yesterday. My Jeopardy treadmill session, while not nothing, isn't enough. So today, I'm going out. I have an Amazon return and I'll get that damn fried chicken so I can quit thinking about it. I'd love to go to Grocery Outlet. Roaming through there is always fun but I also always end up buying Shit I Do Not Want. So I'll pass.
Biggie has taken over Julio Township. He does not seem to have gotten the hang of proper use.

Maybe his instructions where written in a teeny tiny font.
