Last night's game was double, triple fun. First off, we won but it was not easy. Very satisfying but not easy.

My seat neighborhood was an absolute blast. The guy two seats to my left, who was one of the first to introduce himself way back the first night and so far, hasn't missed a game, stood in front of me and and said "we're friends, right?" I acknowledged we were. "through thick and thin?" ??? Ok. And then he pulls out a White Sox visor and put it on. WTF? Dude! He said he might not wear it the whole game but "I'm from the south side. I gotta represent". He was so funny.

The guy that sits between us was a no show again. White Sox and his wife and I all agreed he was weird anyway. They were a little hesitant because they thought we were a couple. I set that record straight.

Then the guy on my right came out from the dining room. The four seats on my right have had a rolling cast of fans. But One guy, who's name turns out to be Matt, has been there a few times and plopped next to me last night. Turns out, he's the guy who owns the seats and the rolling cast are from his employees. I don't know what kind of business. I'll find out next time. Anyway, Matt and his wife and the couple they were with, were all tremendous fun.

I told Matt about the VetTix deal. The weird guy next to me once donated his ticket to VetTix and the guy who got it was so sweet and so nice and so grateful. Turns out Matt's a vet. And just as I was telling him, this new guy plunked down in the seat on my left. Matt said 'give you $10, he's a vet'.

Sure enough, this guy was a contractor working for Boeing from Las Vegas and he got his ticket from VetTix and this was his first ever professional baseball game. He was late because he had spent a long time just roaming the ballpark looking at everything. He was great fun and a fabulous addition to the neighborhood. And he was wearing Crocs in a pattern/color I'd never seen before. (and, of course, now desperately want).

As we got friendlier, I asked Matt if there was any chance he would sell me two of his tickets for the July 19 game. This is when my friends from New Zealand will be here and taking them to the Press Club would be such a blast. He immediately looked at his tickets spreadsheet on his phone to see if that game was spoken for and discovered it was not and said that YES! He'd be happy to. Woot!! I gave him my card and he said he'd figure it out and be in touch. He repeated that just before they left so I've got a high degree of confidence that my Kiwi's are in for a fab surprise.

It was a wild, evening. Oh and then topped off with fireworks after the game. The fireworks show was fine and dandy.

Frank and his friend were sitting in a section so close, he took my picture and texted it over!

The other day, I bought a shirt at Goodwill. $5. Last night, I wore it under my Mariners shirt and it was so freaking comfortable and soft and had thumbholes and was classy and well made and fit me perfectly. Turns out it was Athleta and this morning I investigated and it cost me $110. My new jacket and sweatshirt should be here by the end of the week.

Now I need to go find a Mariner shirt du jour, take a shower and get ready to do it again!

Just a fun night. Fun.

And, in 3 hours, I go back for more fun. None of last night's cast of characters will be there. I won't be in my usual seat so a whole new ballgame!

A whole new ballgame, not counting the actual ballgame. Sounds like a great night.

It's really cool that you've had such nice people around you at the games. I am very glad you were able to find tickets for that time your friend is visiting!
