A nothing day
Jun. 21st, 2023 08:20 amToday there is nothing on the agenda. I have meals ready, and clean clothes. So really there is nothing. Which works for me. I have crocheting to do and TV to watch and not having anybody want me/need me/expect me is just fine.

The HOA meeting was interesting last night. If interesting=more bad news. The half of the building that was thought to be free from the issues experienced by the other half, is, apparently, not.
The building is a rectangle. Half of the units are on the east side and half are on the west. They discovered some bad structural beams on the east side - the ones holding up the roof over the outside terraces. Now they have found similar issues on the west side. This means that the estimate which would mean I would pay about $17,000 will be way more. Probably not doubled but close. And it will likely come in two blows, not one.
And the city of Seattle is holding up the fix by sitting on the permits needed.
Ugh and ugh and ugh.
But, I did get the impression that the people on our side, in charge of getting it all done were doing everything possible and everything smart to make it happen. They tabled nearly everything else in favor of focus on this. Which is the right thing to do but fuck this place is a mess. I am very grateful that I have no desire to sell and move and that even with the issues it's a lovely place to live. And, thankthelord, my piece of the fix is paying. I don't have to do any deciding, choosing, investigating, begging. Just paying. And I have the money. So it could be soooooo much worse.
And the building manager I'm always complaining about? Well, twice now, over the course of a month, I have sent him suggestions/requests via email and instead of getting a whiny reply about why he won't do what I asked, he has sent a 'will do thanks for the suggestion' email. It's freaky.
Ok time to get up and get moving on my do nothing day.
