I have an indoor/outdoor thermometer here on the wall by the desk. For the past 4 or 5 days, it has been the same: 79-81 inside and 85-95 outside. (These are not true temperatures - the thermometer is cheap and my terrace (where the outside probe is) is east facing with variable conditions and 4 stories up from the street. But, I use the readings relatively.) I've run the air conditioner all night for the past two nights. (I can't move the air conditioner and it only really cools off the living room but at least it provides the bedroom a cooler neighbor than without.)

This morning, I woke up to 79 inside and... wait for it... 72 outside!!! I have the door open finally. And we have clouds. The sun is - aw who the fuck cares where the sun is as long as it's not here in my living room and it's not.

I am so grateful. I cannot believe it isn't hot. This is so wonderful.

Yes! I'm so thrilled that the evil heat is gone.

Though I grew up in Los Angeles, I have little tolerance for heat. I just looked at my webcam/thermometer at the house... and it said it was 65. Yay! A lot better than the 80 degrees it was at this time yesterday!

Bad part/good part, though: all the grass and trees and bushes are getting all dry and crunchy. Bad for the greenery in Seattle. Good because I don't have to mow the lawn!
