And the end of 2023 begins

I slept fine but I woke up this morning with my back killing me. I honestly do not think it's my mattress and I'm not sleeping any differently. Usually I elevate the head of the bed a bit but last night I left it flat to see if that would help. It didn't.

Now I am icing it and have taken an Alieve. It doesn't seem any worse than yesterday but also no better. Just ugh.

I did end up picking up Julie. Scott met us on the street (masked) and picked up the cache of COVID tests and some other stuff I had for them. Then Julie and I went out to dinner. It was fun. I'd totally forgotten how strong an accent they both have. I have to really concentrate to make out what they are saying. But it was great fun to hear about their adventures in Texas and Las Vegas and Colorado.

What happens today really depends on COVID tests. If they both test positive then we'll likely go somewhere. If there's a negative test, we likely won't. My plan is to be showered and dressed and ready for whatever.

Our air quality sucks today. Reports are it's about 1/2 from wildfires and 1/2 from fireworks. Be nice if it moves along.

OH! Kiwi text. Negative COVID test!! We're on! I'd better get into that shower.

Ugh, so far this stuff doesn't seem to be going anywhere. They officially said we can't take the kids outside, so they're all restless inside. I hope this isn't a consistent thing this summer, or it's going to be a very long summer.
