Bone tired

When I got home last night, I do not ever remember being that exhausted. My back hurt, my feet hurt, I was too tired to even be any more tired. Way better this morning but I decided to skip the swim and just enjoy some feet up with coffee time.

We left here yesterday and went south to SouthCenter which is a big shopping area. In that area is a giant mall - like in the olden days. We got there about 10:30 so still early for mall world. They have a lovely covered garage (so shade) that was nearly empty. Julie must have asked a half dozen times, "all this parking is for free?????"

I was shocked at how many stores in the mall were open. Not many vacancies at all. But the ones we went into were very staffed by about 1/4th of what would have made a nice customer experience. Oh and One Of The Last Remaining JC Penney's had broken air conditioning. We did about half of what we had planned and I ran out of steam plus it was lunch time so we decamped to Chic Fil A. I have so many political qualms about giving them any business BUT I made the mistake of taking Julie and Scott to one years ago and they really really really wanted to go back. So we did. It has such a cult atmosphere. And no staff shortages there!

Then Scott and I went to Best Buy while Julie went to a the make up and soap stores. We found my new washer/dryer and got to touch it and open it and give it a really good look. 1. I am VERY glad I spent the extra for the base. It actually will not raise it up as high as I like but will give it a needed boost upwards. 2. The inside is gynormous. I can wash all my blankets and both cats at the same time! Monday. It will be here Monday.

By the time we finished up there, I was done so we came back here and rested a bit. They had left a bunch of stuff here when they went to Alaska so we loaded all that up and dropped it off at the hotel and then went and picked up my friend, Frank, and went off to dinner. We went to a french place I'd never heard of before. I thought it was great. Fascinating people, not air conditioned but not horribly hot, an interesting menu. Frank was not impressed but his bar is high. The rest of us enjoyed all of it except the only leftovers was some potatoes. Sigh.

Then I dropped them all off at their places and came home and dropped off the zip car. And crashed. I watched the Mariners win their game and barely made it to the last out.

Now it is 8. I expect Scott and Julie will call in an hour or so and we'll decide on today. Probably more shopping. We've been to several Skeechers stores but they want more and there are two down south of where we were yesterday so if they want, that's where we will head. Scott's back is bothering him so that may change things. I'm ok with whatever.

I do need to make a run down to the dumpsters and do a bit of tidy and shower and get dressed but no hurry, thankfully.

I was super impressed last time I was at Southcenter. It's pretty thriving and while there are some weird stores (the boat store) it's got few vacancies.

I wonder what Frank would think of this place I just heard of: https://www.seattlenorthcountry.com/blog/the-grouchy-chef-serves-up-highly-disciplined-cuisine-atmosphere-in-mukilteo/

It sounds like an interesting experience, if not a bit of a drive to get there.

The fact there's still a big mall somewhere makes me happy. :)

This might be one of those "Just because I can doesn't mean I should" things.
