It is 7:30 am and this is the front door of my building. This is part of the line waiting for something to do with the Taylor Swift concert. Best case, the girls you see here are a long city block + a half from their goal.

Here is the schedule... So regardless of what they are waiting for (and my money says the merch) they are a day away still. The one on the right does have a tent.

SATURDAY, JULY 22 AND SUNDAY, JULY 23

6:00 AM: Lumen Field Parking Garage opens (Pre-Purchased Parking Passes Only)

10:00 AM: NW Box Office* opens

12:00 PM: Merch Trucks open

1:30 PM: Event Center Box Office* opens

4:30 PM: Gates Open

6:30 PM: Event Start Time

In Addition: The BlueJays will be playing at the baseball park next door at 1 pm both those days. The games are nearly sold out as most of western Canada descends on the park to cheer on their team.

This weekend is going to be action central in my 'hood. Wish us luck.

THIS just in - an additional attack from the back - email from the company that manages our building

"Good Morning Florentine Owners & Residents,

It has been brought to our attention that Taylor Swift is having a concert, and there is an overflow of fans camped out behind the building. We have notified the proper channels to see if we can relocate them to a safer location. Many of these individuals are camped out behind the building by the garages. While we work to rectify this situation, please take extra precautions when exiting the garages. Some of these fans are sitting and laying down, and it may be difficult to see them when pulling out. "

We're going to need a bigger boat.

There is NOBODY I have ever wanted to see badly enough to camp out for it. To each their own, I suppose.

The closest that I have ever come to something like this, was when I was in university, one of my favourite bands (Moist) came to town (Victoria, BC) - but you couldn't buy tickets in advance, only at the door.

Which made no sense - they were immensely popular - so my friend and I made plans to go downtown in the afternoon, and find the venue and see what was up. We got there around 2pm and there were already a couple of people sitting near the door, so we plunked ourselves down and hung out, LOL

At one point, we heard the band doing a sound check, and then they came out the front door of the club and talked to us for a bit - they seemed a bit shocked that we were there so early, LOL. Nice guys - they were heading off to get some dinner before the show :D

We did get tickets! It was totally worth it! But that was only a few hours, in nice weather, when I was young :D

That notice just cracks me up. I have been reading news reports about the Jays/Swift confluence for at least a week and your building management just noticed? At least now I know how it was going to affect you (which I had been wondering).
