Sweeping the Swifties

susandennisI decided that I wanted to go swimming this morning. The merch trucks at the football stadium across the street) open at 10 and the gates at the baseball stadium (next block) open at 11. The pool doesn't open until 8 but I was hoping I could sneak out, swim fast and get home before the chaos started.
I left here about 7:30. There were teenage girls on blankets lined up on the sidewalk including five sitting in front of my garage door. I really wanted to honk and yell at them but I just raised the garage door and watched as they slowly got up - FUCKING CAR COMING!!! - and got their blankets and picked up their shit and moved. Several of the other garage doors had girls napping in front of them. Whatever.
The pool was lovely clear and clean and just me for a good half of the swim. On the way home, I stopped at Jack in the Box to try their breakfast sandwich. They are down the street from McDonald's so both on the way home. Jack in the Box is a little more fiddly to actually get hands on the pre-ordered sandwich and the sandwich was on par or less than McDonald's so that experiment worked fine. McDonald's from now on. Easier and better.
Getting back into the garage was a bit easier as all the swiftie butts had been relocated to the parking lot but there was this asshole in a Telsa with Ontario, Canada plates that would not get out of my fucking way. He sat through two green lights blocking my way and then creeped along the road - looking for parking?? - until finally I got to my garage. I said not nice things about the Canadian.
He/she might have been a Swiftie Canadian OR a Blue Jays one.
The Blue Jays had us 2-0 for most of the game. The stadium was filled with Blue Jay fans and they were having a fine old time at our expense in our house! But... then... we tied it up and then...
In the bottom of the 9th in part due some poor pitching on their part, we ended up with bases loaded and two outs, and a guy they traded to us last year hit in the winning run. It was one absolutely DELICIOUS victory. The guy who hit the run in is not an native English speaker but you did not need a translator to read FUCK You FOR Dumping Me - Payback is sweet - in his face and body language. It was pretty hilarious. Sadly it was also way too freaking late for most of the Tornoto fans at home to see.
No word on when I might see my new washer/dryer. I thought yesterday 'heck, I'll just go to Best Buy and get their floor model!' but then, this morning,solteronita 's entry reminded me that I bought mine on sale and now the price is more. Oh well. I don't really want to give Best Buy the business or Home Depot or Lowe's.
Today will be an inside day. I do not need to go anywhere. I have food in the freezer. The baseball game is an afternoon game.
Britbox just got the latest season of Silent Witness. I've watched every season and loved this show but I think if this last season was the first I'd ever seen, I would not watch the rest. It's like they got all new writers who only had the barest of outlines to go by and never saw the show. Weird. But, I'll watch it.
