susandennisFrank has always raved about the All Star Club section at the Mariners ball park. unlimited food and drink with a cash bar in an informal dining room and nice game seats with a ledge that acts as a table.
He found tickets for today's game and asked me to go. It was my first All Star Club game.
The food was more informal than the Press Club and delicious. It was more ball park food. Peanuts and pizza, etc. But also some fancy stuff. Lots of different non alcoholic drinks. It was easy to get around and get what you wanted.
The game seats are padded and comfortable and in the shade. They are not as good a view of the game as the Press Club but interesting and different.
The stadium wasn't packed but it was full - half with Toronto fans and half Mariner fans. The game was close with more than a few critical innings. We ended up losing but it was probably the best game I have seen so far this year. And have two large engaged crowds - one for either side - helped. It was just fun.
And getting home was not nearly the PIA I expected. Lots of people - People in Mariner clothes, People in Toronto clothes with young people in pink and sparkles and faux cowboy boots mixed in. It was a fun walk/ride home.
My breathing is fine and dandy and I'm ready to go swimming tomorrow morning.
