The new routine
Jul. 25th, 2023 09:18 amI can't say I'm all in with the new routine but I'm getting there, I think. I wake up whenever and feed the cats and do a little internetting and then head off to the pool. The traffic getting there is not an issue at all. The pool traffic has not been a problem. It really varies day to day and is, so far, hard to predict. But, so far, the only day I had to wait was a day I went in later than usual. And then the wait was no big deal. The traffic home varies. Tues-Thurs there's a bit of a backup so I take the surface streets which is fine. The rest of the time, I take the highway, also fine.
The coming home without showering at the gym is very fine. It's easier, faster and more efficient.
The only real issue is that it makes going to the grocery store way more of a chore than it was. Before, going to the market was my outing for the day. The market is near the gym but it makes no sense to go after swimming because they don't have the prepared food ready and the prepared food is why I shop there.
Today is a great example. I'd really rather stay home and do the mending/sewing I have to do and some laundry, than go get back into the car and drive to the grocery. I could do it all but I'm retired and retired people (at least me) do basically one thing a day. Maybe two. Certainly not three. hahahaha
So the laundry and mending will have to wait cause I'm hungry or I will be by noon.
Time to get into the shower and make up the bed.
