I really meant well
Aug. 2nd, 2023 04:53 pmI gave a dad and his son completely wrong directions today and I feel very guilty. After the game, this Red Sox dad with his son was looking for the new ride share parking lot which is very hard to find and I got my ownself turned around and sent them in exactly the wrong direction with exactly the wrong instructions.
I'm sure they are saying very well deserved things about me that are not pleasant. I am so sorry, Dad and Son.
The game was great. We were losing for most of it but, fortunately, the Red Sox decided that wouldn't work for them. We got 2 runs on our own but they gave us 4 more with their ridiculous defense. So we ended up taking 2 out of 3 of the series. Which works for me.
My seat neighbor, Matt, was there. He's such an interesting guy and a good conversationalist. He had a friend on the other side of him, Tony. Matt's probably 37ish. Tony is 59. They had a great conversation about the ins and outs of marriage and foibles of raising children. It was fascinating to listen to.
Also, on the row in front of us were 3 probably 10 year old boys who had the very best day of their 10 year old lives. It was fun watching them have so much fun. And wow. did they ever put away the food. They were all three skinny little kids and how they ate that much is a mystery to me. But hey were sure fun to have in the seat neighborhood.
And now no more guests. No more games til next Wednesday.
I got a voicemail message from the office manager of my financial adviser. I explicitly asked that they do not call me. I want communications via email from now on. Tyler said fine but apparently his weird office person didn't sign on. The voicemail wanted to know a convenient time for him to call me to review my account. How does never work?? I wrote her an email and said that I did not want to talk with him on the phone and if he wanted me to know something he should contact me via email. I got the following back:
Thanks for your reply back. Tyler will definitely get back to you in a couple weeks to address any concerns, as he will be out on vacation.
I think we have some tense issues but whatever.
Now it's time to kick back and watch at least some of the news and then maybe an episode of Florida Man (Netfix - it's good).
Tomorrow will be swimming and I really need bread and meals so maybe grocery.

Date: 2023-08-08 03:21 pm (UTC)There has been entirely too much of that this season. And things have progressed to the point where I'm forced to root against the Mariners (insert insincere apology here), who have had the nerve to get to be two games in front of the Sox in the wild-card race.
