sun!

The sun is out and, at the risk of sounding facetious which I really don't mean, it is sure different.  Kind of annoyingly bright.  But I know the tailgaters who are setting up in the parking lot this morning are grateful.  Last I heard it was supposed to be rainy and windy today.

Not that I go much any day but today, particularly, I'll be staying right here or venturing out on foot only.  The Seahawks playoff game is at 5 and they are encouraging everyone to arrive 90 minutes early.  The partyers are gathering now and I suspect it's going to be a wild day out there.

In here I'm watching the last minutes of my eBay auction (for Treo).  There is someone who has no eBay history and who has been sending me stupid questions all morning who now has the high bid.  I so hope a real person steps up.  I don't want to have to fuck with a problem eBay person.

Shit, I was supposed to call the Safeway person at 8 this morning to confirm whether or not they got in enough Diet Dr. Peppers for my delivery tomorrow and I totally forgot and now it's 10 and they are too busy to answer the phone.

My eBay auction is done and at a decent price except that the person who bought it, AFTER the auction ended, sends an email that before he (guessing here) decides to buy it, he wants to check the serial number. Couldn't have asked for the number earlier in the week???? So I send it and hear nothing. Probably won't get paid either. Crap. This is one of the many things I hate about eBay. I love it when it works but when it doesn't it sucks like an Electrolux.

I finally did get someone to answer the phone at Safeway.  Jim.  Who said he'd check and call me back.  He didn't.  And that kind of annoyed me but what are you going to do...

Then I had about 14 bugs come into my work queue ([livejournal.com profile] howeird, thankgod they are only in the queue and not in the bed!)... So I worked on those.  some of them were really not fun.  I got more than half done and decided that was enough fun for a Saturday.  The rest will be there tomorrow.

While I'm working, I'm watching the Front Door Cam and it's hilarious.  Green and Blue people with massive coolers of beer and several people with viking hats and huge groups of roudies have been in and out all day.  Couple that with the drum corps just below my terrace.  It is action central here today.   The crowds are working themselves into a frenzy.  Hour and a half to first pitch.

No further word from Mr. I Need The Treo ESN Before I Decide.  Bastard.  But, no sense in fretting.  I'm going to not worry about it.  This time next week, I'll just leave him scathing feedback and then list it again or see if the next bidder wants it.

Oh!  Jim just called me back!  He said he was waiting to see if they got a delivery today and they haven't so there is no Diet Dr. Pepper for me.  BUT he said that if I moved my delivery to Tuesday, he'd see that I got the goods.  Works for me.  It's such luxury to be here all the time and available for stuff like this.  I told him he was wonderful.  And he sounded like he smiled.

Now I think I'm going to do a little teddy bear work with some TV vegging.

My father never played. My brother never played. I went to an all girls high school. In college I spent all the time I wasn't playing bridge for beer money, marching to end the war in Viet Nam. So I totally missed everything football. I don't really understand it and don't really care.

BUT, I love fireworks. And when the Seahawks win I can see fireworks from my living room. They are kind of lame but, heck, they are better than nothing and I get a charge out of them every time.

So, I try to tune into the last 5 minutes of the game so I'll know when to go stand by the window and get the best view. This year, the Seahawks have played a whole lotta football in the last 5 minutes of the games and tonight was no exception. They are going to be partying hearty in this 'hood for many hours to come yet tonight.

---------

My little eBay twerp continues to annoy. I got another note from him asking for the numbers on the back of the Treo. He says that he called Sprint with the number I gave him and they have no record of the serial number.

I took a picture of the number off the phone and sent it to him with a note saying that his implication was insulting. That I bought the phone in March from a Sprint Store and used it on their service until last week. And that if I did not receive payment from him by Wednesday, it would be sold to someone who would pay.

---------

Two new sit coms debuted last Wednesday on ABC. I finally have watched both of them. The one that the critics said was ok, I enjoyed thoroughly (The Knights of Prosperity). The one that the critics said was probably a keeper (In Case of Emergency) sucked eggs. I also watched the pilot of Dirt which everyone but [livejournal.com profile] kjaz said was horrible and it was not horrible at all. I think it's going to be highly entertaining...
