Week 28

When I came out of the gym this morning, I ran into Rosie coming in.  She asked if this was a 'strength day' or a 'cardio day'.  I didn't have names before. 

Today was my strength day.  I did all her exercises and tried to do more repeats of each one.  Form is a hard thing to capture at the beginning but I think I did pretty well.  On Saturday, Rosie will show me where I'm veering off track.

On strength days, I spend most of my time in the studio room.  It has a big window but still it's not like spending 30 minutes on the treadmill studying my surroundings and fellow workout-ers.  The other fat lady was missing today.  And some of the other regulars.  But, I was a little early. 

Tomorrow, back to the treadmill and I'll catch up on the goings on. 

Now... I'm off to the shower!
 

Week 28

The goings on at casa de me

It's a fabulous fall day here and I'm so enjoying the cool.  I've always loved cold weather but I don't remember ever wallowing in my love of it as much as I have this week.  And Betty's with me all the way.

This is the first time she's ever had cool weather and been the only cat in the house.  She was born for this combo.  She has taken snuggling to new heights.  Last night at lights out, I got under the duvet and curled up on my side and prepared for my trip to dream land.  Before the plane left the station, however, Betty climbed into that sweet spot where my tummy makes the mid part of the C and just settled her silky self right in there with a wonderful sigh. 

During the day, when the lap top is not on the top of the lap, Betty is. And I love it.  Even the cat hair she leaves behind. 

And speaking of cat hair... the new Roomba is Out For Delivery on the UPS truck the driver of which is making me nuts by not getting here yet.  Does he not know that once he gets here I still will have hours of charging to do before the sucking can begin?????

Work is steady and not so stressful and things are good.  Just good.

Roomba has arrived

Finally.  Scott, the building manager, brought the package up which is way way way outside the scope of his duties.  He knew I had been waiting and waiting and if I had seen the UPS guy on TV, I would have been down there before he unloaded his hand cart as I have been soooo many times before.  But, I had totally missed him so Scott brought the box up here.  What a nice guy.

The new Roomba is quite the adult!!  It has a sexier look and a more solid feel and it's quieter and it doesn't ram into things.  And it does a much better job (at least on my carpet).  It stopped midway through it's first run and told me I needed to clean the brushes and boy, was it ever right!  Whew.

1.  The instructions said that when you plugged it in the first time it would take 16 hours to charge.  It would blink amber and then solid green when ready.  It went solid green in two hours.  Who am I to argue with a robot.  I fired her up.
2.  The old ones just beeped.  4 beeps meant one thing.  6 beeps meant something else.  This one tells you exactly what the problem is.  Clean the "fucky brushes you person with a hairy cat!!!"
3.  The cleaning is different, too - different bits to unload and check and remove debris from. 

It's now resting and recharging. I only did half today.  I'm going to leave it alone until tomorrow and then turn it lose on the rest.
