susandennis: (workout)
Whew.  Tuesdays are never easy because I take Mondays off.  Today was no different.  I get worn out before I get through half of the exercises.  But, I did at least one set of reps for each and a couple for some.  Thursday will be better.

The funny little pilates lady was there.  She always has her little dog with her but today she had two little dogs with her.  The gym is not that big.  One more dog and they will have to shut it down for the rest of it when she comes in for sessions.  They are cute dogs, though and they just sit right there on their blankets in the weight area and watch her every move.

Shower time for moi.

Failure

Every single weekday morning, I vow to try and be more cooperative and helpful with the project managers who need the most help. Sometimes I make it until noon. Today, I blew it before 10:30.

This is not a good time to work my way out of a job. Early retirement was a viable option 6 months ago. Not quite so viable these days.

Plus why oh why is it so hard for me to just be a nice person? Lots of other people do it every day all day long without breaking a sweat.

I am not that happy with me right now.

My dishwasher, that I love, has been doing a very shitty job lately. I've been very bummed. It's not bad enough to call a repair man but not great either.

Then, this morning, I noticed it was set to Light Wash. Light Wash is for when you want to knock the big bits off for now and give it the regular washing later.

I changed the setting to Normal Wash and hallefuckingluhya! My dishes are squeaky clean. I apologized to it but I'm thinking I need to do more.

I had holds to pick up at the library so I did a quick library/grocery run.  The grocery had steaks and ground beef on sale.  Score.  But last week I got a deli salad at another store that was very good.  It was cucumbers, radishes and red onions sliced marinated in a poppy seed dressing.  I can do that.  So I got a cucumber, an onion and radishes.

I came home and cut the steaks up into susandennis sized dinner pieces, wrapped them and put them in the freezer.  I fashioned nice, thick patties out of the ground beef and put them in the freezer.  (I like my beef RARE on the inside and nearly crispy on the outside so I always broil it right from the freezer.)

Then I seeded and cut up the cuke, peeled and sliced the onion and sliced the radishes and they are all taking a nice afternoon dip in some excellent Asian dressing (no poppy seed on hand but I like this Asian better anyway) in the fridge.

THEN...  I emptied the dishwasher, cleaned up the kitchen and put the dirty stuff into the dishwasher.

I have said this about 50 kajillion times but... two years ago, there is no way I could have done all of the above in one day.  Not would have, could have.  I would have had to stop and rest after the grocery store.  I would have gotten around to making the salad just minutes before everything hit the spoiled meter.  I do not have the energy of a 20 year old or even a 40 year old but I have enough energy to do what I want to do comfortably and I know how and where to get more if I want it.  I am very grateful.
