He's pink and he's got the coolest sweater of anyone in his class.

On Thursdays, I don't go to the gym in the mornings so I get up, get to work and only break when I hit lunch time. I try to remember to get up and move sometime between work start (about 6) and lunch (about 11:30) but I forgot today and by the time I got out of my chair to go get lunch, my body was in major WTF mode. I'm just so lazy.

When Chef Anita was here she said 'I have an extra chicken breast, do you want me to leave it?' I said 'sure!'

I found it for lunch - beautifully poached. Half of it made a great sandwich with some thinly sliced swiss cheese that Ann brought in her small stack of 'you want our perishables?' Some cheese, some half and half, some heavy cream, a banana and some basil. I think the basil would have lived until they got back from Italy but I was happy to have it all. It's fun to get free food. Especially good food.

The Mariners are playing their last (thankyoujeasus) game against the Nationals. It's an afternoon game there and morning game here - and it's 0-0 in the 9th.

Work is ok. Not too fiddly, not too frustrating. And nice with the baseball game to keep me company. I'll break away at 2 for Marci's class. I still can't get on my one knee but I can do the rest and my abs need to know they are not on permanent vacation.

My friends from New Zealand got out of the country and are enjoying San Francisco. Their home airport was closed for a couple of days thanks to Chile's volcano and they were worried about getting their trip screwed up. But, all is well, apparently, and they will be here on Wednesday. Scott's email from San Francisco reports that they were having a terrible time finding book stores in San Francisco and a shoe store that sells Florsheim shoes. Those whacky Kiwis.

Back to work for me.

Oh my! Whew. It's been several weeks since I've been to Marci's class. Note to self: don't do that again. I am only exhausted and sweaty now. I will be crippled tomorrow. Yikes! She is so good.

I got there early and so did one other person and, of course, Marci was early as always so she started the class early! I love that. No waiting for anybody. But, wow. I do not need to miss any more classes. Usually when I start getting too tired to do much more, I look at the clock and we're 5 mins away from done. (I only do the first 30 minutes of her hour - the last 30 mins are on bicycles.) Today I looked up and there was 20 minutes left!

It just dawned on me that Saturday is the Rock and Roll marathon.

When you share the block with two sports stadiums, you learn to watch their schedules closely and plan accordingly. Yeah, sometimes it's annoying but mostly the benefits of living here far out weigh the annoyances. I never ever have to worry about parking for a game! The Kingdome - across the street for my first 10 years here - had way too few ladies rooms and each had a permanent queue. When I went to a game or function there, if I had to pee, I usually popped across the street and used my own bathroom and was able to get back far more quickly than standing in line.

I know from past experiences that the Rock and Roll marathon hoses up the hood solidly - it's the end of the run where they have all manner of stuff set up for runners and block off all the surrounding streets. I could get out in an emergency but it's not worth the hassle. So Saturday will be a home day. Probably I'll set up the air conditioner to be ready for the hot.

----

As I type this, the Sounder fan march part I is passing on the street under my terrace. So cool and fun. The second wave - the one with the band leading the rest of the fans will go by in probably 10 mins. The benefits really do far out weigh any occasional inconvenience. Oh I hear the band in the distance... they are on their way. And they do a fancy march, too. I know because before The Tree That I Hate gets its stupid leaves I can watch. At least now I can hear them and imagine.

----

I think tomorrow after I finish work, I might make a trip to Costco. [livejournal.com profile] kjazz has sharpened up my jones for a new mattress. I've worn out the costco.com website and now I'm going to the store to see what info I can suck out of them and to see the sample of the one I want.

Sunday I am going to the Pride Parade with [livejournal.com profile] machupicchu. I have not been in years. Mostly because it's been too hot. A couple of years a local station aired it which was fun. This year it looks like it's going to be full sun and so probably hot but at least the temperature promises to at least hover around 70 and I think I can handle that. Plus, it's always so much fun and it is more fun with somebody to play 'omg, look at *that*!!!' with.

My plan for right now, however, is to knit my bear and watch some junk TV!
