I have never been interested in or curious about the space program. There, I've said it. In the early days, with the rest of the nation, I watched men (yeah, then it was mostly) in funny suits take off for the wild where ever. I watched but I didn't care and, honestly, I still don't and now I don't even watch.

Until there is decent shopping out there...

And I think that's it for me. I cannot relate. Honestly it's kind of like car racing to me. All testosterone and speed with no destination.

Yeah, I know wonderful things have come from the space program - bla bla bla. But, also a lot o' money's been put into those funny looking outfits. I'm ok with out riding with the Russians.

I don't have to be smart and intelligent about every single thing. I can be pretty about some.

I did 26 minutes on the treadmill at my highest speed and the more difficult elevation program. Then I did 5 minutes of stretching. Marci's class woke up some arm and shoulder muscles that had gone on semi-permanent leave. Plus my back has computer itis. It all feels world's better now. Why in the heck don't I do that more often??!!

I was going to see about getting a massage today as the good masseuse is on duty. But turns out she isn't actually there cause she had no appointments. If they call her for one she'll come on but I decided not to bother her just for me. Plus my stretching stuff really did help.

Shower time and then back to work! I have Russian and Malasian pages to build!

I finished off a bunch of bugs this morning and then, just as it turned lunch time I hit a stack of real uglies. 9 bugs that are all the same page in different languages and the page is a giant bitch to code in English. It's going to be a royal bitch in other languages. So I stopped for lunch. Another nice, big chef salad.

Now my salad is gone but I'm still not back to work...

It was cool and still is but the sun is coming out from behind the clouds and I think cool's hours are numbered. But, I am going to set up the ottoman today and get it ready for sleeping on the terrace if I need to. My downtown Seattle condo will have an old fashioned Southern sleeping porch - hope somebody has the biscuits made when I get up in the morning!

I am still sucked into Google+. Like sucked in totally. I'm loving finding all the new people and also enjoying seeing a lot of my online friends from here and Twitter appearing there. I'm coming close, too, I think, on figuring out what of me goes here and what of me goes there and what, if anything, needs to be shared between the two.

Now I think I have procrastinated quite long enough. If I don't get back to work now, I'll have to work all afternoon to get my 8 hours in and we can't have that...on a Friday particularly!

The basket is all balls again. When I have pulled enough yarn out of a skein it gets droopy and hard to handle. When a skein is droopy it get wound into a ball. The circle of yarn.

My idea was to keep the ottoman an ottoman until I wanted to sleep on it and then fold it out to the bed. But it turned out to be too fiddly. When I'm too hot to sleep, I am sure as hell too hot to be fucking with furniture.

So, I made an executive decision. For the two months of hot here, it will be set up as a bed on the terrace. I can turn off the AC and go sleep in the cool. I don't think we ever have a night too warm to sleep outside.

A long time ago, I was complaining about my hoarding and mentioned having a bunch of retired shower curtains. I remember [livejournal.com profile] fj popped in to ask why in the hell I would hang on to retired shower curtains. As I recall, I had a lame list of reasons. Now I have a good one. They make a perfect (and perfectly lovely) bed protector for your outside bed!! There's a lot of grime out there that is really dust. I can just periodically flap it off this coverlet. And if it gets too bad, I can wash it.

I'm quite pleased with this arrangement. It's my kind of camping adventure!!
