Back to the pool!
Nov. 13th, 2012 10:11 amToday is swim class with my buds and I have big news for them. Mantrel, our favorite teacher who moved up the ladder and is now at the pool I go to on Saturdays, is having another baby. He has two little boys and sometime soon - maybe even already - he's having a little girl. He's the kind of guy who was born to be a daddy and especially a little girl's daddy. The class on Saturday was all the buzz cause he started his parental leave.
The class at my regular pool hasn't even heard a bit of it. I feel like I should gift wrap this oh so juicy tidbit!
---
I broke down and bought a Dyson Hot and Cool. It's a bladeless fan and also a space heater. Since I can't get an electric heater built into my fireplace (well, I can if I want to reconstruct the fireplace and spend a fortune, which I really don't), I've had my eye on this Dyson. The Dyson is perfect for what I want and looks oooh so sleek and sexy but is ohhhh so expensive. Next to the electric fireplace not so much but still.
Finally I snagged an Amazon Warehouse deal - slight dings on the base - 30% off. It should be here Thursday.
---
Nothing else much to report. Retirement is sure different. It's odd to just not have anything you have to do - day after day after day. I think I'm still feeling my way to what it will be. I do feel so lucky to have the option.

Walgreens Redemption
Nov. 13th, 2012 10:21 amI just now got a call from one of the Walgreens (I think she said it was Walgreensmail). She said she was calling about the prescription I ordered and wanted to know if I needed it filled immediately. She said that on December 1, all of my prescriptions will be transferred automatically from Postal Prescription and if I could wait, all I would have to do is hit refill.
She noted that some of the information provided was confusing and they were discovering that customers were ordering things they didn't need. I told her that I was totally in that bucket. I don't need it and I really really appreciated her call.
Weird but I do feel way better about the whole thing now.

Journal announcement
Nov. 13th, 2012 05:41 pmEvery day I post a photo of my knitting basket. The entries (like 99% of all my entries) are public and should be able to be seen by anyone. No special permissions needed at all. The photos of the knitting basket are from my Flickr account. They are also public and need no permissions to view.
I learned today that one LJ friend sees no photo in the entries. I'm clueless as to why but I thought I'd let anyone else who is in the same position know that the Today's Basket entries are not blanks.
I now return you to your regular programming.
