First of all, there were very few women at the gym today. The pool pretty much stayed full the whole time I was in it but it was all people of the male persuasion. The locker room was empty but when I walked through the gym to leave, it was packed. With mostly men. All the chicks home making dip???

Then a stop at the grocery store where my cellphone had a stroke. It said I had reached my data limit so no connection for me. 1. Today starts a new month. My data limit is 5GB. 2. last month, I used 875MB not even 1 whole GB. 3. How was there no way to buy more GB's when I need them anyway?? GRRRRR

On the other hand, I've had the same cellphone plan for about 4 years now. I pay $30 a month and this is the first time I've ever even had a hint of a problem.

When I got home, and got onto wifi, the cell data corrected itself and now, when I turn off wifi, I have plenty of cell service - weird weird weird.

And snow. The weather people have, once again, taken their regardless-of-what-the-weather-will-be-let's-predict-snow!!!! And so snow prediction it is. Starting this evening and picking up seriously early tomorrow morning for a few inches.

Based on their past predictions, we could have no precipitation or 18 inches. I'm thinking we'll know for sure about the time I would be leaving for the pool tomorrow.

As it stands now - subject to change - tomorrow is bear and doll delivery. So I'll be taking their final photos today and baggin' them up. Probably first, I'll make a couple more dolls just to round out the crowd.

I am not a lover of kids. I like cute kids and kids who do cute things, but most kids I see and/or interact with are not cute at all. They are loud and not interesting. If they sit or stand and do nothing, they aren't interesting. Most of what they do, however, is frenetic, loud and ridiculous - not in a good way.

But, of course, there are exceptions. And today included one. At the grocery, I was waiting for the elevator to take me down to the garage and my car, when the door opened and a guy came out pushing a cart with a flintstone mobile attached to the front. In it were two same sized small people - a boy and a girl. As I looked down, I could see that the little girl had a little purse and the little purse was stuffed with even littler small animals. She was checking on the purse contents and then slipped the handle around her arm ready for shopping. It was only a moment and it was adorable.

I would have killed to ride in one of those flintstone mobile carts when I was a kid.

If you take your umbrella, it won't rain. If you wash the car, it will. [livejournal.com profile] rsc had the most wonderful suggestion of taking an antihistamine for my sneezing and runny nose (I cannot believe I did not think of this myself - thank goodness for [livejournal.com profile] rsc). I have some in the bathroom all ready to take. So, of course, my nose has not run all day nor have I sneezed. This is even better than taking an antihistamine!

In 2005, I was cleaning out my condo for The Great Makeover. I had a ton of books. I found a box and made a sign "Take One Leave One" and put it in the garage by the door into the lobby. It was a big success. A few years later, the building manager at that time had an old wall rack and hung it up so we could swap magazines. Then Scott, the guy in the loft just below me, moved out and found lots of stuff he didn't want to bother with - a small file cabinet, a lamp, some picture frames and he left them by the garage door with a sign that says 'free - anything left by Friday will go to Goodwill'. There was nothing left by Friday and more stuff appeared. The building manger put up a shelf... and the Free Shelf was born.

That building manager left and the new one objected to the free shelf. But we persevered and finally, he found a set of shelves and moved the Free Shelf over by the recycle and garbage bins. (And continued to bitch about it and bitch about everything the old manager did at every opportunity which he still continues to do to this day more than 2 years later.)

I've found a lot of wonderful things on the free shelf. People leave dumb stuff but also really fun stuff. I've left lots there myself. When my brother was here, he bought a new suitcase and left his old, but still perfectly usable, duffel bag there.

Finally the building manager has declared victory. Tomorrow night at the Home Owners Board meeting, the Free Shelf will be put to death. He says it's just too much to maintain. I thought about volunteering to take it over (check it daily, toss out crap, etc.) but, it's just not worth it dealing with him. So RIP, Free Shelf. You had a great run.

Snow reports all over the area. No snow here. Yet.

All of these are now in bags by the front door. Hopefully the snow won't prevent their being delivered tomorrow. I hate the idea of their spending extra time crunched in a bag.
