Sunday

Yesterday I started a load of laundry and then went around the house picking up this and straightening that and when I got to the living room, I spied the couch and decided to do something about it. The end where my ass lives most of most days, has been getting dirty and dirtier. Some food stains and some use stains. I used upholstery cleaner on it but it was time to take off the cover and wash it.

The couch is a solid color and I knew that was asking for trouble when I bought it so I also bought an extra cover. The couch is so weird I figured IKEA would yank it from inventory (oddly, they have not yet) so waiting was not a good idea.

Getting the cover off was non-trivial. It's attached by velcro all around and it's strong velcro. And I was not operating on total oxygen. But I finally got it off and WHEW it fit into the washing machine. And double WHEW, getting the replacement on was far easier than getting the dirty one off! Turns out they recommend NO tumble dry so the now clean one is hanging from my shower rod but it's now totally clean and dry. So yeah! There is one little puncture place - I think Biggie dug in that I want to fix and then it will go into storage until this one gets dirty.

Pretty much a win win. This couch isn't perfect but it is a nice sized day bed. I love the color and now I know for sure that it has fabulous grime recovery.

Also yesterday was the Brandy Clark concert that I had a ticket to. It was great. Weird, but great. Weird because there was no applause after songs but after the first couple, that was fine. It was done through a website called Mandolin and it was done very well. I can even re watch for 24 hours after. Totally worth the $.

I'm still having lung issues. Not major but enough to be annoying. When this COPD thing does start to get bad, it's going to be very annoying. I think I'm going to opt for getting hit by a bus.

I think I'm going back to Grocery Outlet today. I need more produce and it's a close as any other source but mainly I got a box of some cheddar cheese biscuit things that I finally opened yesterday and they are AMAZING. I tossed the box when I got home so I want to get more so I can capture the detail but also more biscuits. (They really are more cheese straws but it said biscuits on the bag.)

That will be my outing.

But first I need a shower. And I need to get the couch cover off the shower rod before I can shower. So I think I'll have some more coffee before that.

Two different weather days in one

I drove to Grocery Outlet with the sun in my eyes. No joy on the cheese biscuits but I got the rest of what I wanted and home. I fixed the couch cover and put it away and then fixed lunch (using up several different left overs - very satisfying). While it was cooking/warming up, I cleaned out the fridge. Everything expiring in February is now dumpster fodder.

Now I have just discovered that today's game is on TV - it's a California broadcast to I have TV on mute and the Seattle radio broadcast on MLB app. Works.

While I was waiting to check out at Grocery Outlet, it dawned on me that the last time I shared a household with another human was in the early 80's. When I buy groceries, they are for me. My Mom used to say that I never remarried because I did not want to share the remote. True. But even truer I don't know how to shop for/share food. I just have no idea how I would work that. Good thing I don't have to!

Now it is pouring down rain and there is even a little hail! Biggie is very confused.
