Biggie revenge
Jun. 23rd, 2021 09:29 amHe just bit me again. Just as one bite heals, he needs to inflict another. This one is at least on the other arm and not nearly as bad as the last one but holy crap. I had a tissue on it to catch the blood and he sniffed the tissue and then put his teeth on my arm next to it. Trying to take a second bite? NFW, buster. Either he's ignoring me or having me for lunch. Geesh, Biggie! Oh well. Biggie's just going to be Biggie.
Maybe he's pissed that I wasn't here last night. Don't care. It was worth it.
The game was great. Really great, actually. But the pre-game was almost better. I got there my usual early. There are few in the Diamond Club who go out to the field seats early but the entire staff - about a dozen people who's only job is to make sure we are happy - is there and ready to serve. So I get a lot of attention. I was wearing a top I had made from a giveaway a few years ago - PJ pants. One of the staff came over to tell me how cool it was and that she had PJ pants out of that same fabric so I explained. She, apparently, went back to the others and told them.
One of them, Kelly, I specifically remember from other years because she is the spitting image of Molly Shannon. It's uncanny. Anyway, Kelly, comes over to see the shirt up close and ask about it. I explained that there is a dearth of Mariners fabrics so I used what I can find. They recently had another PJ pants giveaway featuring one of the players JP Crawford. Get it? JP PJ's hahaha. Anyway, Kelly asked me if I'd gotten the JP PJ's and I said that no, I'd missed those.
Yep, 10 minutes later, back comes Kelly with a par of JP PJ pants! And with apologies cause all she could find were Mediums instead of large so I'd have more fabric to work with!
Very fun. Oh and also before the game, the Moose came by - the team mascot. The seat next to me was empty so he just sat right down and put his hairy arm around me and we swayed to the music while all around us watched and clapped. It was fun. I was proud to just enjoy the moment without whipping out a camera. But, I'm sure those around thought 'oh that poor lady doesn't realize she should have a camerat to capture that.' fuck 'em. It was between me and the Moose.
The game was a low scoring, relatively fast moving one. We were ahead 1-0. The Rockies tied it 1-1 and the same rookie who provided the walk off grand slam on Sunday, hit a home run in the 8th. Only his third in the major leagues. It was glorious. And fun.
So... now I have to make a new Mariners shirt out of the JP PJ's! I honestly don't need a new Mariners shirt and the fabric from the pants is cheap polyester that is not going to be that comfortable but, hey, I got no choice. It's a call and response thing. And my next game is Tuesday. I have ideas.
I did not make it to the Amazon return yesterday and now I have two things to return so I think I'll pop out this morning and do that. Plus today is the last day of sub 80 degree weather. Sunday and Monday's forecast is 100 and 101 respectively (although I got no respect for either of those temperatures). So I might not go out again after today until next Tuesday's game!
