falling behinder and behinder

Let's see if I can reel in a quick roundup. Yesterday we went to Vashon Island which was lovely. It's a quick 25 minute ferry trip.



I kind of took up more space than I needed...

I do love riding on the ferry even when I don't get out of the car.



After the ferry, there's a fairly long and lovely winding drive to "city". A cute crossroads of shops and restaurants and services. We walked around and enjoyed it all. Then we had lunch at The Hardware Store.

It's a lovely looking place. The menu was uninspired but it was not crowded and I'd heard good things. We split a ceasar salad and a muffaletto sandwich and it was delicious! I wanted to stay for dinner. And it did get very crowded. Our timing was perfect. Then we meandered back to the ferry doc and came on home.

We did more chores and projects and ended up going across the street for a slice of pizza for dinner which was perfect.

This morning we went out for breakfast and to run some errands. The missing piece for the shelves arrived from Amazon and we got the assembly finished. All the crap from the living room and terrace went onto the shelves, into the Goodwill pile or into the trash pile.

The shelves have empty spaces on them and three of the large plastic bins are empty.





Then we went to Bellevue to the new Kura conveyor belt sushi place. It was after 1 when we got there and still the wait was 45 minutes. But, turns out, it was totally worth the wait. The food was great and the operation was slick as a whistle. It's way better than the conveyor belt sushi places we used to have. All automated, huge variety, lots to order from off the belt. It was just fun.

We got caught in traffic coming home. The traffic and trip between here and there always sucks and today was no different. It's why I stay in my own area code.

We still have some chores to do and Bill wants to get on a scooter or bike and take himself exploring. Oh and we need to make a run by the pot shop. So busy busy busy and fun.

Meanwhile, Biggie has been quite social with us but it's distracted him from his work. He has not brought in a bird all week. Or maybe the birds have gotten smarter...
