More and more
Jul. 15th, 2021 04:19 pmYesterday we finished off the terrace and rehung the drapes. It looks so nice and is so functional.

But, when the wind kicks up those drapes can fly. It doesn't really hurt anything particularly but it is messy so I vowed that part of the redo would include a fix. I came up with a clip thing that fixed one side. But, Bill came up with the winning solution. We glued (do NOT tell the HOA) four metal discs - two on each side - to the wall and then I sewed magnets into the drapes! Easy open and click to close. LOVE IT.
We went to the special bakery and got cake. It opens at noon. We got there about 11:25. There was one guy in line and another woman waiting in her car. About 11:45, we got out of the car and so did the other woman and created a true queue. Before they opened at noon there were maybe 25 people behind us. It was wild. Good damn cake.
We came home and unloaded out wares and then headed out for Two Doors Down for burgers. When we got there, we found a sign on the door saying they couldn't find cooks to hire so they were closed until August 1. Sigh. Then Bill said 'what about that other place?' I grilled him for clues and on we went to Tats. It was delicious.
Biggie has not killed a bird since the 9th. I took the chicken wire down on the 8th. He brought in one on the 9th and then one flew in and he got it on the 9th. And since then, zip, nada, zilch. He does try. He's out there a lot. But nothing. It will be interesting to see what he does when it's just the two of us again and all the changes have settled in.
