Taking Silver... maybe gold in the Sleep Olympics

Earlier this week, I scored my personal best sleep number. And last night, I beat it!



Turns out, I'm working on some mad sleep skills! I may need to update my resume.

Today's adventure will be food foraging. When my brother was here, we found this cool little Chinese restaurant - Dim Sum House. It's a tiny thing nestled in a humble neighborhood of many ethnicities (South Beacon Hill). The food was excellent. And it was just a nice little unassuming place. Both of the dishes we ordered were great and the leftovers were, too. Today, I think, I'm going back and I'm going to order up a bunch of different dishes and bring them home. They have grub hub. And I could call the order in and then pick it up but I think this time, I'm just going to go and order and wait.

I suspect that any day now we will enter weeks of bad air. Air filled with smoke from the wildfires. So far, we've been lucky but I don't think our luck will hold. Our air has already sunk to moderate. I grabbed a screenshot more for comparison in a couple of weeks.



My lungs hate smoky air. Already, I'm worried about sitting in ballgames during smoke season. It makes me cough and that cough is truly gross and ugly and not something you want to expose other people to. But, hopefully, I'm just borrowing trouble.

Biggie and Robby nearly got into it this morning. I usually turn on Robby while I'm on the treadmill. I do one or two rooms every morning. Today was hall and sewing room. Biggie was hanging out waiting for me to finish treadmilling. He was sitting in the middle of the hall when Robby was vacuuming it. Here comes Robby aiming right for Biggie. And there's Biggie, just not moving. Robby tapped him gently and Biggie sat. So Robby went around. Then Biggie just casually got up and moved into the bedroom. Robby was really confused for a bit but he finally straightened himself out. Biggie was Biggie. That cat is one adventure after another.

It's still morning so he's on bird duty now.

And I think I'm going to go get dressed.

Excellent idea

Google showed me a new/better way to get to the restaurant. As I pulled out of the garage, I realized I'd forgotten to check the calendar. There's a Sounders game in the stadium ooops. Well, it was 11:30 and the game wasn't until 2. I'd chance it. But, geeze there were a whole lotta soccer peops already milling about.

Turns out it took exactly 1 hour from the time I left my living room until I got back there to go, order, wait, receive and come back. And it was an easy trip. I do think next time I will call and order ahead. And in an emergency, there is Grubhub.

The tiny place was packed. I already had decided so that part was easy. It was a pleasant place to kill 15 mins or so even in all the hub bub. I got 3 full meals, 1 dessert and one side. $45. The side was a dud. The rest was perfect. I had a huge lunch and I have 5 full meals in the fridge and freezer ready for next time. I got my money's worth for sure. I brought home a menu to study and added the other things I want to try to the list I started in Keep.

I said to my brother when we first sat down that I was in the market for a new goto Chinese food place and I think I found it.

YUM.

Oh and the traffic police had already cordoned off all the streets when I got back but they do leave one open for 'local access' and I really had no issue sliding back into my parking spot.
