Last night I slept with the foot of the bed way up until finally about 4 am I lowered it a bit. Too high. My feet and ankles were just like yesterday - not nearly as fat as last night but still chubby. This morning I put on the compression socks which are a lot less odious than I expected. I normally don't even like socks but these aren't horrible. I do expect it will feel blissful when I take them off, however.

But, the question is, why do I care. My regular doctor rarely even looks at my feet/ankles. A couple of years ago, I pointed out that one was way bigger than the other and he was not impressed. My lung doctor always pinched my ankles to check. BUT I don't see him any more, only the nurse practitioner and she doesn't care. Neither my feet nor my ankles hurt when they are swollen and I have no current contracts for feet/ankle modeling that I need to worry about so, why do I care? I don't think I do. So I think I might just take these socks off and put them in the drawer for when I do care and quit worrying about it.

What I am going to worry about today is the kitchen. I have two shelves that need culling and... both my fridge and freezer. Mainly the fridge. Since I now have a semi nearby grocery again, there is far less need for massive storage of stuff. It's always a crap shoot. Am I going to use that milk/cheese before it goes bad? Ditto celery/onion. Etc. So I buy and then hold on to it until I can actually see the mold or tie a not in the celery. But, now, a quick jaunt up to Amazon Fresh will fix any shortage so I think it's time to mend my hoarding ways and clean out the fodder. Those last two green onions are screaming to join their brethren in the compost bin.

I find myself getting more and more COVID stressed. The number of cases in the Seattle area is growing in leaps and bounds - a 250% increase in the last few days. The new thought of booster in 8 months, makes me eligible next month. Which makes me think rightly or wrongly that my current safety net now has a gigantic hole in it.

So except for forays to the aforementioned grocery store, I really don't have any place I need to go until my next baseball game in a week. And I'm getting a little antsy about that one already.

Then I stop and breathe and fall back into if it's my time to go it's my time to go. So why get all stressed.

Instead I think I'll rejoice in the tweet I just saw that says that the city's wading pools are all closed today because it's not hot enough to open them!!! And my air conditioner is getting a much deserved rest. The door to the terrace is open and it's much easier for Biggie to get his 'prey' inside now. Oh wait, that, last bit needs to go in the 'con' category.

I drink my iced tea with nothing in it. Just tea. For this I am very grateful because I just spilled an entire glass of it.

On the carpet and computer table... but not on the computer OR the phone next to it!!

I love nugget ice. But, just today, I wished for a few giant cubes instead of 59+ tiny ice bits all over the carpet.

I also drink my coffee with nothing in it so no well the relief when spilling it.

I really need to concentrate on keeping my beverages upright and in their containers!

I did some more compression sock research and discovered you can buy them with open toes!! That's a great idea so I cut the toes off mine. Whew! my little piggies were so happy for freedom that I still have the actual socks on and I still don't hate them. So interesting to me. I hate socks and I hate being squeezed. Especially around the legs. So why aren't these just bugging the shit out of me? Weird.

The shelves in the kitchen are in much better shape. The freezer and fridge are purged of everything unidentifiable or science experimental! I took a gynormous load of trash, compost and recycling down to the dumpsters.

I found a dish in the freezer labeled Costco Mashed Potatoes. It was my label on my dish so clearly spooned from the original source. I had some chicken from Amazon Fresh so I baked up both. I love potatoes. I love mashed potatoes but these suckers were a notch above the rest! Why did I have Costco mashed potatoes? Was it from one of their kitchen dishes like maybe meatloaf? I need to investigate. That shit was delish! I'm about due for a Costco run anyway.

What I did not find in the freezer was chinese food. I could swear I had one more dinner in there. Bummer.

BUT no bummer is this weather!! It is currently 64 (16C) degrees on my terrace!! I know it won't last but I love it today.
