Last night, as I was getting into bed, I noticed another spot on my foot that hurt. It felt like maybe I'd scraped it on something. It bugged the shit out of me last night when I'd brush it against the sheet or my other foot. But, this morning I couldn't find a thing. It's in a spot I cannot see well but still it hurt like it should be visible. Finally, I slapped a bandaid on where it felt like it needed it. I put on my softest sandals and got on the treadmill. After the first few minutes I forgot about it and it has not troubled me since. Wonder if it's a tiny cut or something. Weird but I've got lots of bandaids so I'm cool

And... mouth. As in what goes in it. Another wonder biscuit breakfast. I had plans for what to make today but then [livejournal.com profile] ljtourist called last night to discuss my new found love of baking and share some tips. He changed my Tuesday entirely. I'm not even sure what I'm going to make but I know it will be better than it would be before he called!! It might be a white cake. It might be banana chocolate chip cookies. TBD.

The Mariner game is at 12:30 today. I think I'm going to pop out to Amazon Fresh before the game.

I heard on the news that the Mariners have made changes to their mask policy. It's not on their website. I've gotten no email from them. The policy, outlined in the press release on the local news site indicates that they are following the letter of the law and just ignoring the spirit. Wimps. Maybe by the time I have to make the Go/NoGo decision again (mid-sept), things will be better.

My electric August (mostly) bill is down close to 30% from this time last year. Wow.

Shower time.

so the Mariners sent the email out. mask up. but, then, my sales guy followed that up with details. and they are way more stringent than they were the first time round. still, however, when you are in your seats watching the game, no masks required so where the close contact and the yelling and mouth mist swaps happen, no protection. Far cry from vaccines requirement.

i'm not unhappy with my decision to pass on the next two games.

back from the store. the tech cart and i are getting to be better friends. it is handy to see a screen with what you have in the cart and the total as you go. when done, you take it over this big green arrow and it plays a 'you're all done' tune and out you go. still no buttermilk. and no over ripe bananas. so we're a day or two away from banana chocolate chip cookies.

I've been doing all of my baking in my Ninja oven. I have the same love/hate relationship with mine that [livejournal.com profile] letmesaythis has with hers.

I have an oven/microwave combo over the stove. It's great for some stuff but not for baking. I have a regular giant oven which is great for baking but it's used for storage and NFW am I heating that huge thing up. So Ninja.

But, you know what? It does pretty darned good. My batches are small. It heats up really really quickly. And has precise timing and temperature readouts.

It got a little carried away with a batch of cookies today...

These are not chocolate.

I didn't make any new bakery stuff today. I tried various iterations of the dough I made yesterday. I added more flour to some, more heat to other, some thin, some thick. The dough is not something I'll make again but I'm learning about stuff and they are very edible.

Also I'm still working my temperature blanket. Here it is Jan 1-April 8. The outside of each square is the high temperature of the day and the inside, the low temperature of that same day. (I'm putting a navy square in between each month.) It's great fun to work on.
