Having the house cleaner come in once a month has become a royal PIA. She really only cleans the bathrooms and the kitchen. The robot vacuums and she kind of dusts but not much. Plus she has never been very punctual and I never like to be here when she is here. I cannot count on her being here when she says so I have to be gone from ?? to ?? depending on her whim and it all gets worse every month. Last month, she canceled on me at the very last minute and that was the straw. I'd rather clean it all myself than deal with her any more. So I told her, via text, that December would be the last month.

But, the more I thought about it the more having November be the last month became more attractive. We've taken to exchanging texts the day before so this morning I told her that I would pay her for December but that I needed tomorrow to be the last clean. She said ok so I know she understands. I will be delighted when I see that she's left the keys on the counter. The end of an era.

Biggie had a good night except he will just not keep any collar on. I woke up at 3 and he had gotten it off I put it back on. It was off again this morning. He won't let me examine his paws closely and he does lick them but then he licks all over. He's a rabid groomer. He gets around easily but he's not really using his right paw - the one that he broke.

My plan is to watch. It's only Tuesday. I have the rest of the week to take him back to the vet if needed. Although how very unhappy he would be if I had to get him back into his baggie. Getting around on 3 feet is fine but it means foot 4 is probably painful and that's not fine. We shall see.

I moved his bubble bed to the floor and that's where he is now.

Today will be Biggie watch plus I want to write and mail thank you notes to the three vet offices and to Dr. Moore. I wrote them out but I want the notes in my own hand writing on real note cards so that still needs to be done. That's really the only todo on the list!

Yesterday while I was waiting in the vet's lobby, a woman came in with a cat. She's a foster cat mom and the cat she took in over the weekend had some issues. She said she couldn't get an appointment with her regular vet for a month. The guy at the desk said they could absolutely work her in but it would be long wait. 3 hours. She said ok, but she needed to move her car and she couldn't find the vet's spaces. He started to explain but I was sure doing nothing so I said "come on, I'll show you." They were both shocked. She followed me out and I took her next door down to the parking garage and showed her were the free spaces were. She was very grateful and even the vet guy thanked me when I got back.

Today I walked down to the tiny little post office about 3 blocks from here to get pretty stamps for my thank you notes. I was the only customer and the clerk was as nice as she could be. I had 6 dollars in my pocket but could only find 3 when it came time to pay. I had more in my wallet so no biggie.

I walked home slowly because no reason to rush and I was out of breath anyway. A full block away, I heard "LADY!!!" There were few people on the street so I turned around. It was the clerk from the post office! She found my 3 dollars on the floor after I left and brought it to me!!! I couldn't believe it but managed to give her a big thank you before she ran back. I was astonished and warmed by her kindness.

But now my karma is back to zero. I need to find another act of kindness to keep the tab in the black!

I was just in the middle of a note to the vet about his not using his one foot when he walks into the living room using all four feet (a little limp but foot was on the ground) and hops up onto the sofa into his bubble bed for a nap.

NBD.

The vet note can wait a bit, I think.
