I woke up this morning remembering one year end thing I wanted to do - refill a particular prescription. The vagaries of medicare drug insurance means that the cost of this particular drug, for me, will be far less this week than next. I have a nice supply now but want to take the calendar advantage. Turns out my prescription had lapsed so I sent a note off to the nurse practitioner this morning.

And that's it for today's excitement.

We got a note from the condo management people to hold off any recycling or garbage contributions until next week. That's going to inconvenience a bunch. I'm in fairly good shape. I made a big run on Monday. Whew. Between holidays and snow, this town is pretty much stumped. I heard on the national news last night that yesterday there were more flights canceled at the Seattle airport than any airport in the world. Go us!

They are making no effort to clear/salt/sand neighborhood streets which is fair. I'm very grateful that I need to go exactly nowhere. Tomorrow it's supposed to get above freezing but there is also more snow predicted. And also for Saturday.

I will need to go to Costco today or tomorrow to pick up the prescription, but I might just ask Instacart to do it.

I ordered the chair. I have all of the questions and answers and offerings and decisions in email which is so much better than phone or in person. I got red leather. It will take 10-12 months to get. 50% down and the rest at delivery. Probably not that smart a decision for someone my age. I hope I don't drop dead before it gets here. If I do live that long my butt will be sitting in one heck of a fancy assed chair.

I might make some biscuits today. I thought I had some in the freezer but, turns out, I was wrong. I think maybe some cheese and bacon biscuits. Maybe.

I started watching Never Have I Ever on Netflix yesterday. It is surprisingly charming. And there are two seasons. There will be more watching of it today.

* the nurse practitioner got my request and filled it immediately. Yeah! But, sent it to Humana Pharmacy rather than Costco. I was afraid it would get lost at Humana and their tracking down options suck. Then I got a text from them that it was in process and I was able to confirm on their website AND it cost about half of what I thought it would cost so. Double yeah.

* and that removes any need I had to step out of this apartment until next year.

* the cookies I made yesterday may very well be the greatest cookies ever in the history of cookies. I cannot stop eating them.

the ones on the plate on the counter fared the best so far. they are perfectly crisp. the ones in the cookie jar (lidded but not air tight) did the worst but they are still pretty crispy. the ones in the airtight container also did ok - not as good as the counter ones but ok. i haven't tested the freezer ones yet.

I rewrote the recipe to include all the changes I made to the last two batches. I think I will change no more. They are just too good.
