There has been a fair amount of conversation recently in the media about how we need schools in downtown Seattle. It makes me twitch every time I read it in a headline. One of the joys of living downtown is that it is basically a child free neighborhood without being a senior center.
There's one child who lives on my hall who is now about 8 or 9. She is a screacher and a runner. And is, apparently, allowed to do whatever she wants by her mother and grandmother with whom she lives. We do not need more of her.
The downtown core is surrounded by lovely suburbs and neighborhoods all of which are suited for children. And they have schools.
