susandennis: (workout)
This week's set of exercises is really good.  Just difficult enough but not so difficult that I cheat.  And, as usual, there is one that I could not do on Saturday and discovered today that I actually can!

Not much new in the gym population.  I had to go in a little later today.  The yoga class uses the room I do and they aren't out until 7:30 so by the time I got there, the crowd had thinned.  But, it's always nice to see the regulars.

I love coming out to the street after and having that blast of cold air hit my sweat.  But, today that blast of cold air was joined by some serious wind!  I only wear shorts, t-shirt and sweat hoodie so it was nice and crisp getting home!  I'm not complaining.  There will be plenty of days soon enough when I'll be begging for cold.

Today might be another one of those semi slow work days. Yesterday actually turned out to be a rather full one but I still managed to knock off a couple of things on my personal list. Like the junk org project.

All of the stuff in the credenza near the front door has now been hauled out, sorted through, culled and put back in bins so that I can easily open the door and pull out a bin to see what's there and find what I want. Nice.

Next on the hit parade is the other credenza next to the half bath. I think we're going to do the same thing.

My car is getting Goodwill full. So soon there will need to be a drop off trip and also soon there needs to be a Costco/coffee trip. Depending on how things go this morning, one or both of those may even happen today. My lunch truck is in the 'hood today so I am absolutely making a lunch trip and both Costco and Goodwill are nearby enough to combine if time allows.

--

I got a virus IM today. It was a pretty lame one because it was from a clueless someone who would likely forward whatever came her way and because it was a link that appeared to be a page but was actually a download. So it never came close to hurting me but easy to see how someone less alert might get taken... Delete, delete.

--

Another couple of projects I have on my plate are moving my stuff to a new wiki and figuring out how to forward one of my emails without leaving a copy on the server.

--

When Mom was alive I set up a wiki for me - I kept all of her info there for ready access, telephone numbers, names, account numbers, notes, links, etc. It was a great solution cause I could easily add/edit and could access it from any computer anywhere quickly and easily. I set it up on PBWiki and set up one for me - notes, and links, and a few files and stuff. PBWiki was fine but they charge me $50 a year and they have changed their model from personal to corporate so it's time for me to bail. I have a new home http://www.wikidot.com and I need to transfer all the info over - like the credenza's it's taking it all out, culling, editing, and then putting it back in an organized fashion so it's easy to find what I want.

--

I forward the email from one of my domains to Gmail mainly to take advantage of Gmail's superior spam filtering. Outlook grabs the Gmail via pop3 and saves a copy locally. So I do not need a copy on the server that houses the domain. But, I'll be darned if I can find a way to forward-and-then-delete. I've always done this before using the client but Gmail which is kind of serving as the client here doesn't offer the option. So I need to investigate other options. I can log on every once in a while and clean up the trash but that's kind of silly.

So... that's the world of me today. So far.

Lunch at Skillet Street Food

What a fun adventure. And as much as I love a routine, I think I know what I'll be doing every Tuesday about 11:45ish...

It was freezing fucking cold with a nice brisk wind thrown in for those of us who do not chill easily. The trailer (which is an airstream on a flat bed trailer) is parked in the alley between warehouses. The place is so run down and back alley that the graffiti is about 1990's vintage. The skillet folks and my fellow customers are likely the only people back there in the last decade without hard hats.

And in the middle is this trailer with steam coming out the side and popsicle people waiting in line for the goodies. Two women took orders and money and passed the orders up through the little window.

[livejournal.com profile] seattlejo your guess of the burger was exactly what I set out to get BUT they had a problem with the hood vent so there were no burgers... I got (and what's in the food picture):

lemongrass pork Sammy, red cabbage and ginger slaw, cilantro aioli, brioche, handcut fries

And... it was heaven. I sat in the car, grateful to be out of the wind, and pigged out. I wish I had had room for more.

Just as my lunch was ready, they fixed the vent and added burgers to the menu. Next week.
