Summer begins
Jun. 1st, 2021 08:44 amI caved yesterday and turned on the air conditioner. It did not feel like chilled air at first but soon enough the room cooled off. Thank you, a/c. I heart you and am looking forward to your efficient work this Summer.
I had ordered a new fan for the bedroom and Google said it would be delivered between 2 and 6. On Sundays, this delivery time is generally pretty iffy. Maybe 50% of the time time, it comes on Monday. So I was prepared. But about 7:30 I got an actual text from the delivery person. In all the shit I have ordered from Amazon, I have never gotten a text from a delivery person before. The text said even though it was late, did I still want delivery? I said sure... 30 minutes later, the delivery person - Jessica - was calling on the intercom "I'll bring it right up". Honestly, I don't know why Amazon does not have more female delivery people. They get it.
The new fan is much better than the one it replaced. Even though my bed reported that the room was too hot last night, I was fine. Slept well.
I called the gym 1st thing to get a slot for tomorrow at 10 am. I was concerned that they might be booked already. "Do you want lane 2 or 3?" So I am all set with the perfect outing for House Cleaning Day.
It will be interesting to see how the traffic is on the route for a 10 am swim. If it's fine, then I think maybe my new schedule will be swim every other day and treadmill on the non swim days. The idea of making that drive every day is just not appealing and I don't want swimming to become a chore.
I'm getting ready to test the boundaries of HOA law. There are rules about not "modifying" "limited common elements" such as the door to the hallway. I have just ordered a small number pad that works with my Wyze Smart Lock. I plan to install it as discretely as possible outside my door. Probably using Command tape. If/when the HOA court brings me up on charges, I plan to use the Doorbell Defense⢠. Some units have doorbells and some do not. These were owner installed. And not all are the same. So if doorbell of choice is allowed, then why not keypad? It's a $20 gamble. I'm up for it.
I have nothing particular planned for today. I might pop down to the bagel place to pick up a sandwich for lunch but I might not. I will absolutely be knitting on my sweater. The Mariners are on a bit of a winning streak, but, more importantly to me, they have been fun wins like yesterday's 10th inning ome. So baseball tonight.
