Most of Biggie's stitches are out now. But the skin is holding together miraculously well. I thought about taking him to the vet but, honestly, they are going to look at the incision and say, it's fine. He's not even trying to get to stitches or the incision. I don't think a cone would have prevented their coming out. I think it's just his energy level. He's supposed to not run or jump or play but he's done all of those things.

His current rough safety pin shirt stayed on all night. It does limit his movements a bit which is excellent. He finally figured out how to get it off this morning. But I managed to get it back on him again. Amazon is bringing him a real kitty onesie today and hopefully that will be more comfortable and keep the incision protected.

I'm not going anywhere today until I get the new onsie on him and see that he's not going crazy about it. We still may make the vet trip. I see online that they aren't terribly busy today, for a change.

Otherwise. I'll be here. I took a serving of stuffing out of the freezer. I plan to have it sometime today with a porkchop that's also in there. But I was amazed at being able to actually see stuff. It's no longer so packed that the light is blocked. It feels way more manageable now.

I feel like I need to start sewing again but the reason I stopped is pretty much still valid. I stopped because I had enough clothes and I really do still have enough. Every morning I look in the closet and there's just the thing I want to wear in there. A couple of my long sleeved winter choices are no longer my favorites so I need to send them to Goodwill and maybe replace but maybe not. Oh well. Maybe I'll use Biggie's new onesie from Amazon as a pattern and make him a whole wardrobe. GodIhopenot.

First I think I'll get dressed. Baby steps.

Stapled up

The onesie for Biggie showed up. But, when I took off his star t-shirt, I saw that the incision had changed and not for the better. So... into the Biggie Baggie and off to the vet.

Happily we were there, done and back within an hour. That's some kind of vet miracle. And it was a very good call. The tech said that it was only beginning to separate and could have come right apart.

She said they retied the last two stitches remaining and stapled the rest. I have not looked yet because he's kind of been through enough fiddling with this morning. They gave him an antibiotic just be safe and told me, if I could, press a warm compress for about 10 mins against his tummy 3 times a day.

They want to see him again on Monday to check and then Thursday to remove everything.

We got home and he ate lunch and had a pill and then I warmed up some rice in a sock and he sat still for the crompress for 10 minutes! He's busy investigating things now.

Hopefully he'll settle down for a nap soon.
