I think I'm going to do the early morning old people hour at Costco today. I've decided I want steak and they have the best plus the best price. I'll get my steps in and get the beef. And get out before the majority of the virus carriers arrive.

I also need groceries. I might get delivery but I might just slap my N95 on and do it myself. That's a decision for tomorrow.

Biggie has one more dose of medicine - the kind that's supposed to suppress his energy - due at noon today and then it's Katie Bar The Door. He's chillin' out on the heating pad just now.

My breakfast casseroles turned out ok. Good. Not fabulous but good. They really needed chuckier stale-er bread and more egg to be excellent. But they will make wonderful, easy breakfasts for the next six days and I'm not mad about that.

The cookies turned out way better. Had I paid better attention to how they looked, they would be gift worthy. Oh well. I froze about half and I'll just have to eat the rest this week. The royal icing, although a mess, also turned out to work fine. I need to figure out how to wrangle it.

Jeopardy is past that stupid tournament and now back to regular shows so my mornings are back to good treadmilling. I hate those made up tournaments. I like the Tournament of Champions but the rest are just annoying. Plus we have a new, fun, multi-game winner to follow.

OMG Twitter says that CES (the giant consumer electronics show in Las Vegas just after Christmas) isn't canceled. Who in their right mind...

Ok enough of this. Time to suit up and head out.

I finished watching Series 2 of Baptiste. Really excellent writing and plot. And acting. And then I went to find something else. Somewhere I read to put a show called Avenue 5 on my ToWatch list. So I fired it up. (HBO Max) and OMG it may be the funniest scripted TV ever scripted.

I gave Biggie his last medicine today. Except then, an hour later, I got up and found the pill in the fabric of my pants. So I gave it to him again. This time I saw him swallow.

I love licking the bowls and the beaters when I bake. Maybe that's why my baked goods never taste their best until the next day. Today I am discovering that yesterday's gingerbread cookies are phenomenal. I may have to make more because these will not last around here.

My trip to Costco this morning was perfect. There were a lot of old people there but it was not nearly packed and many aisles were empty. I got in a good walk and got my steaks.

I've lost $8,000. Well, not really. $7,928. And I didn't lose it but someone sure did. I had my bank send that much to the bank that the condo management company uses. It should have gone right to my account. Last Wednesday. It did not. I sent an email yesterday to the management company and got crickets. Finally today, I picked up the phone and got connected to Daisy. She asked all the right questions and once the magnitude of the problem appeared to her she said "Oh my god, you must be frantic. I get stressed when $1 goes missing." I knew I was in good hands. She said she'd figure it out and get back to me tomorrow or today. I'm grateful for Daisy.

I keep a thermometer here by my chair. Sometimes I am all of a sudden too cold (or too hot) and without someone here to corroborate, it's how I know I'm not imaginating. Of course, feeling too cold when it isn't doesn't mean a blanket or lap robe won't help. Fortunately I'm working on one right now that is far enough along to warm as well as be a work in progress.
