Back to jes me
Aug. 21st, 2011 08:51 amMy brother and sister-in-law should be boarding their plane now. Happily the only traffic we hit this morning was a bit of a backup at the arrivals dropoff area of the airport. I have one more car trip to make - my brother left some stuff in my car and I'll take it to the post office today - and then I'm not taking that car anywhere maybe ever again. I have had my fill of traffic.
When we were growing up, fondue was a family favorite. Sometimes we had cheese and sometimes beef and always it was great fun and delicious. It was those fond memories that made me lust after a meal at the Melting Pot.
Now I've had my meal and I'm cured.
We had a great time. And the cheese fondue was delicious. The chocolate wasn't bad but not my thing. The meat section was just blah. I kept thinking, why am I doing the cooking??? I am truly delighted we did it. And Bill and Dana were the perfect companions for it.
And we do not have to do that again.
We managed to finish up and drive home just as the Seattle Storm basketball game let out very near the restaurant and also - in a sweet bit of traffic karma - just as the Seahawks game was letting out next to my house.
We were grateful just to make it into the house.
And now I have the rest of the day. Laundry is on the hit parade. And I need to suck the rest of the air out of the airbed (which provided me yet another really good night's sleep) and put it away, move my stuff back from the half bath to the master bath, clean up and reorganize, oh and go to the post office (24/7 shipping machine).
Nice to have the whole day to leisurely tend to stuff. The daily Mainer loss starts at 10 so even that will be out of the way early. Nice.
